Hi all,
To be honest with you, i tested several games and the tracking is pretty good so maybe the room i'm in helps a lot, it's a small 6m2 office, my floor is dark and the walls are white , but there are a lot of objects around, I have a window on my right, I have, from time to time, a message especially at the end of the day on the lack of light but when it happens I turn on a halogen which is facing the helmet, but not at its maximum. When night falls I close the shutters of my window, and I light the halogen fully. I would post a picture of my location when I play so you can get an idea.

If your vive console is already 1.0.9.6, then you are good to update.
Although wireless update is okay, but I still strongly suggest to update your firmware via wire connection. Thanks
@C.T.Thanks !

Hello guys,
Best wishes for the new year.
It's been a long time since I used my cosmos (family problem)
I have a question for you : i have a previous public build installed on my cosmos, and i want to upgrade via wireless to a last public (1.0.9.6), for additionnal information, i never installed the beta firmware on my cosmos, i saw that on older post, it's possible to brick the cosmos, i'm worried, can you confirm that the update to public 1.0.9.6 since last public version, via wireless is not a problem ?
For additionnal information, my software (Viveport is up to date version 1.0.9.6)
Thanks for your response.

Yes but it probably will not work as well as a proper QC3.0 charger imho. Maybe do a bit of Googling to see the diff.
yep ! But why HTC doesn’t he supply the charger ? we won’t ask ourselves that kind of question!

Sorry but I'm not sure that this is a QC3.0 approved charger.
You’re right, but it works!

Ok, with my new QC3.0 wall charger I charger my Cosmos 21W battery that was one light showing when I last looked at it so it could have been anything between 11-25% charged, probably something in the middle. It took just under 3 hours to fully recharge. So, quite a but faster then my good old 5v/2a smartphone wall charger. I'll haver to see whether or not I get better runtimes with this charger. Stay tuned, lol!
hi @TomCgcmfc
Full charged 3hrs with a samsung travel adapter

Sorry but I find this pretty hard to believe mate. Even Vive pro users do not get this kind of battery life and the older lighthouse stations headsets take a lot less wireless power to operate. Maybe you got a Super-Battery, lol!
Hi @TomCgcmfc
I feel irony in your words, and i want to explain my actions :
i I spent two hours to configure PCars2, 'i played only 10mn, the default of center view is critical, every time can i play, the screen slipped or left or right, I understood that it was necessary to launch the game with the head in front of the screen to have a Chance to have a centered screen, and again it didn’t work all time. I I had to do it again a room setup several times.
But i confirm with this actions my battery pack lasted 2 hours.
Please @HTC resolve this issue as soon as possible !
My config :
- MOBO 7270 PRO GAMING M5
- I7 6700K
- 16GB Ram
- SSD 1To
- RTX 2060
- T500RS + Paddle + Gear

A re-centre button lets you re-centre yourself in 3D. Pretty hard to explain unless you see this with the Oculsu re-centre button imho.
+1 !!!

Hey, thanks for the answer.
Can you also answer about the 2 other questions?
Those problems that mentioned, they only effect the games? or also i will have those issues if I just watch a VR movie? Also, if I watch a VR movie, can i do that in any distance i want?
no worries for the videos, for the rest I leave it to the other members to answer you I am also new in VR.

Hello guys, first of all i want to apologize in advance for my English.
So, i know a guy who knows a guy, so I can buy the new htc cosmos for 300$ (don't mentioned other products because in my country, its hard to get them) . I know that the cosmos have problems, even though i dont know what those problems even means because i'm new to the whole vr thing.
So, the last time I used vr was on the GEARVR on my old Samsung phone, I never used vr on pc. and I wanted to ask:
- In general, for 300$, it worth to buy the cosmos even with all the problems (which probably will be fixed in the future, right?)?
- the problems that everyone talks about is only on games? or it will be effect me even if i will watch a movie?
- When i watching a movie, can i do that from any distance i want to or i need to stay close to the pc? there is a distance limitations? I read online that when you want to play a game, you need to stay in space that you define when you setup your vr, right? so in movies, its the same like in games or can i watch movies in any distance from the pc i want?
Thanks for the help 🙂
Hi Keane0411,
for 300€ don't hesitate
the problems described will be fixed I have no doubt htc has already made great efforts so farThat's my opinion.

I 've recharged a few times now once it got down to 25% (first light just starts to blink). It took about 3-4 hours to recharge with a 5v 2A USB wall charger. So, if you use a typical 5v 1A USB phone charger it will take about 6-8 hours. I only seem to be getting about 1.5 hrs runtime before I need to recharge. Once the battery's 4 lights (= full charge) goes down to 1 light starting to flash (= 25%) you want to charge it pretty soon after or you will start to get some display and tracking issues. You may get a low battery warning but I did not notice this so you are best to just periodically check the battery lights. Also, the battery seems to get hotter the more it is discharged. You should also allow the battery to cool down (about 10 minutes) to at least body temperature before putting it on a charger so you do not damage the battery.
Unfortunately battery life and long charge times are the weak link to enjoying the Cosmos wireless for me right now. I think that Vive needs to look at supplying at least 2 battery packs or maybe just a higher mAh capacity battery (maybe 15-20000mAh) together with a fast (4A?) wall charger imho.
Thx a lot for your response .. I will test with a usb port type C to see if it goes more faster ....I WANT TO PLAY sniffff
