  1. Facebook / Oculus (Rift S, Quest) 3 months+ couple days; had tracking locked down and removed a white screen blip, with NO upsale (still no upsale to date) lol ๐ŸŽฏ > HTC base Vive Cosmos 9+ months and still going with tracking issues and other downfalls, 5 months after the initial release of the base Cosmos, HTC hits customers with an upsale ๐Ÿค•๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿค‘
  2. @C.T. Unfortunately, I do believe it is something on HTC side of things dealing with application / game performance with the latest update. Also, update version 1.0.12.3 continues to give me error code 210: The compositer was disconnected. Restart Vive console to fix. Restarted everything, console, SteamVR, and PC in full and it still happens. You all are making it very hard to give HTC's VR line-up a fighting chance. I personally will not give HTC a second chance or thought moving forward. HTC lost this round.
  3. @C.T. To be straight up honest. I doubt the game performance/HMD lag has much to do with HTC staff. I'm thinking it has to do SteamVR. Seeing how in a number of reddit post about every HMD (Valve Index, Rift(s), and Vive(s) have all had application/game performance issues when dealing with SteamVR. Vive Software 1.0.12.2 SteamVr Software 1.12.2
  4. @C.T. still have version 1.0.12.2 installed and things seem better while using the HMD freeze/lag causing the application/game to do the same. Still, the tracking is the best I have personally experienced on the Cosmos to date! ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿฝ Fingers crossed moving forward..
  5. @C.T. Trace#: 20200509113629 with 1.0.12.2 beta update installed. Trace#: 20200509114724 with rollback Thanks!
  6. Yep. Confirmed. Same results for me. Game performance took a HUGE hit since the last update. This is for tracking and visuals performance. Freezing / System Lag. Why? Applications/games tested: Onward, HL:A, In Death, Sports Bar, and the all tanked in performance in a major way. Gigabyte Aero 15X, i7 8750H, 2tb + 1tb M.2 NVMe SSD, Aorus eGPU 2080ti Water Cooled Gaming Box.
  7. @C.T. just wanted to be clear on this recent update 05/07/2020. Has it already gone public or is it still a beta? C.T. just giving you some digital bullshiza VIVE Cosmos 1.0.12.2 โ€“ ***Public*** Release Notes Tracking still gets stuck/frozen. Hopefully HTC is planning to slap the VR industry in the face with with a massive update for inside-out tracking...very soon!
  8. ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘†๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ agreed. Junk
  9. Just my thoughts on this TRACKING issue: PROS: HTC staff did make a big dent with this update, that we all been on for far too long. It's not RIFT S grade, but nice I must say. CONS: Tracking still gets stuck/paused when aiming in FPS with the COSMOS. Also, as mentioned earlier we are in a pandemic. However, HTC released a new product to market (COSMOS Elite + Faceplate add-on/up sale) during the pandemic. The organization has remote/home office operations to communication, distribution, and all that good stuff to make revenue still. Bottom line is we are still seeking answers and actions to make the initial investment of value. It's not of value at the moment... HTC has a team still updating the company website, sku#'s, payroll, etc. Oculus last update was April 15 - Oculus is active and updating their consumers.
  10. Its been a while since I provided any type of input. Facts: Pre-Order Day 1 purchase (Vive Cosmos, Rift S, Rift CV1 x2, Index, etc.) Rift S debuts with tracking issues and a white blip across the display...yep real facts. It took the Rift S three to thee and a half months to address most of all major software concerns, constantly updating the HMD and tracking. NOT the Vive Cosmos inside out tracking. TRACKING still sucks on the Vive Cosmos! However, HTC wants to upsale you more products. So, they release the Cosmos Elite and other models of the Vive Cosmos but the initial product released is still way behind the Rift S. It's not even in the same league as the Valve Index so no need to compare the two. Items that definitely need attention: โ—OOBE inside out tracking. Poor effort with update 1.0.11.1. (HMD and controllers) HMD jitters when viewing objects up close. Controller tracking is just out right poor, very poor. โ—Still no RECENTER/RESET VIEW when your Virtual world does not align with the real world. โ—TESTED interviewed the HTC team saying the tracking is as good as the competition...sure it is. Also, saying that they update the Cosmos weekly. No, more like once (1) a month. Highly disappointed. But hey...the screen still looks good when it's not so damn jittery. 11. HTC Cosmos - Definitely on the right path towards correcting the inside out flaws of tracking issues for OOBE, still RIFT S is more polished. Nice update before the holidays...Maybe we can get Reset View / Reset Position by New Year's 2020. Haahaaa maybe that's a little too much.
  12. Thank you for being honest. For the thousands (let's not kid ourselves HUNDREDS) of consumers that purchased this poor product...tracking is still way below expectations from the competition standards. Still NO re-center/rest view option. I know the team or person responsible is looking for a new job.
  13. VIVE COSMOS console would block the initial loading of COD MW forcing you to boot into safe mode or turn OFF the VIVE console within the system tray. Vive Cosmos tracking still sucks and there is still no Reset view/re-center view option.
  14. Where is the REST VIEW/RE-CENTER VIEW within the UI? Guess the message was passed along and the engineering "team" will get to it when they get to it. One picture shows a desk lamp that works perfectly fine with Oculus RIFT S, QUEST, etc. Laying in bed and watching movies is a real life action people with VR units do take advantage of in low light (with inside out tracking). Never does Oculus products tell you the lighting conditions are too poor to play with...at all. Other picture shows MAX lighting in room and the VIVE COSMOS will still from time to time say something regarding lightning, not enough features, or dont block cameras when putting on the HMD. Which is all a bunch of bull shit. (Please excuse the room; Contractor oversees.) Long story short: Oculus Rift S - NO issues on lighting, tracking, or to reset view within the UI. On a $400 device Vive Cosmos - Terrible issues with lightning, very poor tracking mentioned sooooo many times and will continue to be mentioned, and NO reset view at all within the UI on this $700 device. VIVE Cosmos Community Forum is dead. Nothing like Oculus or Valve's forums on consumer devices. Days go by with no action. Maybe the HTC team does see they dont have to play ball, because their following is dying off dramatically.
  15. http://www.ign.com//articles/2019/11/25/htc-vive-cosmos-vr-headset-review Two thumbs down boys...HTC team should go back to the drawing board. They need help seriously. Damn shame. Most of the day one supporters dont even want to comment (positive comments) or show friends and family this trash call the Vive Cosmos. And HTC says the device is Modular for upgrades. Tell me who would really continue putting money into the pocket of HTC, that cant correct their own issues with the product? Google Cardboard has a better audience and following...
