  1. Nope, I'm still getting unacceptable frame drops consistently with my 4080 on my Vive Pro 1, tried the direct display disable method already so yeah... Support is yet to give me an answer, and running it on my 3060ti, RX6950XT, and the integrated graphics on my R9 7900x none of them have this issue, only the 4080. I keep telling support this in emails but they keep insisting it's an issue on my end and that the Vive Pro 1 isn't affected by this issue (it obviously is)
  2. Hate to say this because I really do love my Vive Pro, but honestly if you are still in the return window I'd advise returning it. The Vive Pro 2 is quickly becoming an antiquated headset and there are MUCH more exciting HMDs coming out in 2023, both basestation tracked and inside out thanks to the push for all headsets to utilize at least 2000x2000 per eye miniLED and pancake lenses. The Vive Pro 2 may have a high resolution but it's sweet spot is terrible and for what it costs, it's kind of not worth it. I 100% struggle to recommend this headset in 2023, and I'd even go as far as to say it was the same for the end of 2022. If the 4080 and 4090 didn't have the SAME ISSUE with the Vive Pro 1, I'd recommend that with basestation 2.0's and index controllers as a hold-over (you can get a Vive Pro used for $300 or less) but alas, even the original Vive Pro and I spent over a week exchanging emails with technical support until they simply stopped replying after blaming my PC for it and telling me to install drivers from mid 2022... on a 4080. Like I said earlier.. if you've got the itch and deep enough pockets for a significant upgrade just go with a Varjo Aero, it'll be a better experience and the one issue I had with mine (usb cable was acting funky) they literally sent me a replacement cable overnight with only 2 email exchanges, not even asking for the bad one back or anything.
  3. Exactly this, infact... If you're willing to spend a bit over twice the price of a Vive Pro 2 (tall order but I mean I'm still going to at least recommend it) I ultimately ended up buying a Varjo Aero a week after I got my 4080 and honestly, I've enjoyed it so much more than my Vive Pro 2 that I recently sold it as I lost faith in HTC solving this issue in a timely manner as it's apparently not enough of a priority for them, especially considering the issue was solved by Varjo within weeks of the 4090 release. I've kept my Vive Pro 1 as I did the GearVR lens mod on it and honestly think it's a far superior HMD to the Vive Pro 2 anyways and I hope to use it again one day... but I'm not having high hopes at this point.
  4. Will this also address the performance issues with the original Vive Pro on the 4090 and 4080? I've been unable to use either my Vive Pro 2 or Vive Pro eversince getting an RTX 4080.
