XerosII
I have just started experiencing the same issue on my Vive. The room temperature was only about 27 degrees celcius. I also blasted the A/C to get the temperature down to around 20 degrees and the problem still persisted. I've narrowed it down to the two sensors beside the front facing camera, and if I put black electrical tape over those two sensors the headset will behave normally. But this doesn't seem like a viable long term solution. I purchased my vive in March, 2017 and the serial number is: S/N: FA6C7JJ01906 2016/12 Is there any official word for HTC regarding what to do about it? I happy to RMA the device if necesary, however I'm also developing VR content and can't go too long without the headset. An exchange type of thing like the video card manufacturers do would be amazing.

Geraint
I get this issue, and again seems to only start after about 30mins in, and gets gradually worse. Heat doesnt seem to be the issue though. If you hold your hand on the front of the headset, the display often comes back to life. This stops working after time though. Dreamager
The room lights are directly between the base stations so could quite easily be causing sync issues from interupted line of sight? Especially if the lights are on. Try using the sync cable?
KingRangnar
, Hi. Thank you for your consideration, but I have used my Vive for 3-4 months like that, without any single problem. Actually the base station were not well aligned. Since I startet to experience this problem at the beginning I was reading some forums and there was one video which stated that unaligned stations could cause this problem, so I now they are perfectly in line, but that's not the problem. As I said, there is nothing that I've changed regarding my room decoration/furnitures/computer/screen or anything at all. It's just started after 3-4 months of playing and I had sessions for like 4-5 hours no problem at all.
