Use Focus 3 controllers with other headsets?

My use case is that I have a Varjo Aero and one base station on the way, I don't currently plan to buy any base station controllers because I mainly intend to use the Aero for simming and keyboard and mouse.

What I want to do is sometimes use 6dof controllers with the Aero and I would like to just turn on my XR Elite and put it off to somewhere with good visibility of the controllers and just use it for tracking that way and use them with the Aero, possibly using a playspace combiner, is this possible?
