JavierAvila
Good morning, we want to apply this system to our playzone, the problem is that it is not a simple square, but it has an entrance and an exit that belong to the playzone too. i will send the image of the plan. Where and how do we put the generated qr marks?
VIVE_Sally
Hi, is the place marked as "Locker & suit up" in the picture represents the Entrance and Exit? If so, we suggest you to place the MBDP markers only in the main play area (the VR Space), on the 4 corners and making 2 diagonal lines, each have longest distance possible in the area. Meanwhile, the LBE tracking map could still cover the whole area including the entrance and exit.
JavierAvila
Yes, but these entrances are part of vr experience too.
VIVE_Sally
these entrances can still be part of the vr experience and the tracking map, but the marker-based drift prevention might not work well in this kind of narrow areas, so it is recommended to place the markers only in the large area, which the drift preventing effect will be more noticable. EmilioBlackBird
But we already have a map created with those two entries included. Drift prevention forces you to create another map, right?
VIVE_Sally
Yes, since the Drift Prevention works by embedded the markers into the tracking map, it is necessary to have the markers set up and Drift Prevention enabled before creating a map for the environment. JavierAvila
Hello, in the end we have opted for Marker-Based Relocation. We follow this tutorial: But the loading time remains the same. We have one of the markers at the beginning of the experience, but the map still takes 6 seconds minimum to load, it is not immediate. Steps we've done: 1- Create Markers and put it 2- Select marker en map creation (json) 3- Create de map 4- Export Our batch configuration Edited September 25 by JavierAvila
JavierAvila
But the loading time remains the same. We have one of the markers at the beginning of the experience, but the map still takes 6 seconds minimum to load when turn on devices, it is not immediate. Is it only for when the devices come back from standby? Should it also charge fast when we turn them on after being turned off?
VIVE_Sally
By using the function, both the relocation accuracy and relocation speed should be improved. The Marker-Based Relocation speeds up relocation process when turning on the HMD, but it does not make the relocation time zero. The tracking engine still takes time to load the map, and this period of time depends on the size of the map, the larger the map the longer it takes. JavierAvila
Are this options good activated, drift prevention and advanced recolocation?
