I have an ALienware M15R2 that receives the HTC DP incompatibility error, and neither nVidia, hTC nor Alienware are aware how to fix it?  I have updated all drivers and reinstalled all software multiple times.  Has anyone else ran in to this and obtained a fix?

Make sure your Nvidia driver is not in 451.48/451.67/446.1 version which will cause HDCP error.

I recently bought a cosmos elite a couple weeks ago and on several occasions I have the audio suddenly drop for 2-3 seconds before coming back sometimes its once a night and other times its ever 10 minutes. I'm thinking its a driver/USB issue and its disconnecting and reconnecting. I've had it reconnect and the PC no longer lists the microphone as an input as well when the audio comes back on a potion of these incidents. The tracking and visuals are unaffected during these episodes. I really don't want to have to use a separate headset for audio as the headphones are nothing special, but are great for keeping extra cords out of the way or have to worry about an audio headset falling off when playing anything intense like beat saber. It seems like its something through the headset so I'd have to use an entirely separate device to play and record audio as plugging anything else into the headphone jack would still cut out.

All my connections are tight. I've found the only way to reestablish the mic when it disappears is restarting the headset through the VIVE console. Changing USB ports doesn't seem to help. Resetting the headset through VIVE console didn't do anything other than make me setup the playspace over and over again. The only temporary solution I've found is using the steam VR developer settings to uninstall all headset USB drivers, restart the PC, and have them all reinstall themselves. This got me through another week of nightly use before I had to do it again and then about another week before it happened again. Anyone else having issues similar to this? Is there a workaround or perhaps drivers to manually install and see if that helps?

I'm not sure about the root cause but you may try disabling USB power management/update your USB driver.

I have currently have this issue. I can't find or download the cosmos elite drivers anywhere making my brand new headset useless. I might as well return it at this rate if I can't even use the program that's required for it.

    Find it in Viveport PC:

Avatar-> Setting-> device setup page-> Cosmos elite installer

    Fixed it!

I had to go to my Windows camera privacy settings, and then turn on camera access for the device and desktop apps.

I never had to do this before, but I'm now positive that it's what was causing the problem. The ViveVRServer appears on the list of desktop apps that wants to access my camera, and I can replicate and then fix the black screen issue by toggling its permission off and on.

@Captain Patate I hope this works for you, if it doesn't I would check to see if you have any other programs or settings that could affect camera access on your computer.

@TheNumblock Have you tried this before?

I think I have found the problem. It was SteamVR beta. I tried before with DDU Uninstaller for drivers and still had the problem so the last thing I needed to try was to go back and instead of beta went into regular and that fixed I still have some frame drops but it's  much much better a lot less fps drops. I still have a lot of reprojections but at least it felt better without all the frame drops.

Have you tried to turn off/re-enable SMT on AMD?

I'm not sure it will work or not, just giving you a suggestion imho.

I am having the same problem with my controllers. I had the HTC Vive  and it broke down so I now have the new vive Cosmo. Some of the games I tried to play wont recognise the new cosmo handset. I look for games that play either cosmo and HTC Vive. I mostly want cosmo. Star trek Bridge where the controllers are hands. I can use the cosmo controller keys but they are different to the HTC Vive. Its all trial and error but with some movements I cant do as there are not enough buttons. I'm at a loss  as to what to do. Any help would be appreciated thank you.

I've played this game with Cosmos and OG VIVE. The corresponding buttons on both CR are almost the same.

I wonder which button/function you cannot find, maybe I can share the experience with you imho.

The headphones that come with the cosmos refuse to stay on my ears as they keep clicking and pulling away from my ears whenever i move my head a bit heavily (beat saber, ect).

Is there a way to adjust the screws on these headphones so that it takes more force to open/close the clasp so that it doesn't keep accidentally un-setting themselves from my ears?

    I have the same issue...

Moving the earphone clip along the halo strap might help.

Its been a while since I provided any type of input.  Facts:   Pre-Order Day 1 purchase (Vive Cosmos, Rift S, Rift CV1 x2, Index, etc.)  Rift S debuts with tracking issues and a white blip across the display...yep real facts.  It took the Rift S three to thee and a half months to address most of all major software concerns, constantly updating the HMD and tracking.  NOT the Vive Cosmos inside out tracking.  TRACKING still sucks on the Vive Cosmos!

However, HTC wants to upsale you more products.  So, they release the Cosmos Elite and other models of the Vive Cosmos but the initial product released is still way behind the Rift S.  It's not even in the same league as the Valve Index so no need to compare the two.

    Items that definitely need attention:

●OOBE inside out tracking.  Poor effort with update 1.0.11.1.  (HMD and controllers)  HMD jitters when viewing objects up close.  Controller tracking is just out right poor, very poor.

●Still no RECENTER/RESET VIEW when your Virtual world does not align with the real world.

●TESTED interviewed the HTC team saying the tracking is as good as the competition...sure it is.  Also, saying that they update the Cosmos weekly.  No, more like once (1) a month.

Highly disappointed.  But hey...the screen still looks good when it's not so damn jittery.

    Gigabyte Aero 15X eGPU 2080ti 3tb M.2 SSD/ Asus  G20 2080ti 10tb HDD

You must miss the bubble menu where RECENTER/RESET VIEW function is in. Little dorky lol

  9. I found a tricky way to redo room setup...

Launch Steam -> Find bottom-left corner and click "Add a game" ->  Choose "add a non-steam game" -> Browse your local file -> Enter C:\Program Files (x86)\VIVE\Updater\App\RoomSetup -> Select "Viveroomsetup" app and add selected program -> Launch Cosmos room setup via SteamVR dashboard

Not that intuitive but fine for switching room scale/seated mode...

    1. When you press the vive button on the controller please give an option to redo the room boundary. (Having to take off headset and activate from the console is annoying)

    2. After room boundary is done sometimes steam will point us in the wrong direction so please PLEASE give us an option to reorientate.

    @stvnxu

    @C.T.

I totally agree with these functions...

Just recently purchased a Vive Cosmos and I'm having trouble understanding why Viveport and Vive Console automatically launch when I use Steam and launch a VR app.  SteamVR 1.9.xx shows me the status of my devices and has some settings I can adjust as does Vive Console.  My purchased games show up in steam but also show up in Viveport.  Forgive me if I seem perturbed by why force the VivePort ecosystem upon your users without consent just like Microsoft tried forcing Internet Explorer upon windows users many years back. I've invested a lot of $$$ on Steam and Viveport Infinity doesn't include many of the  premium VR games as part of it subscription.

With the original Vive, it was simply a matter of uninstalling Viveport. The headset and controllers still worked flawlessly with SteamVR.  This is not the case with the Cosmos!

I've  packed up my cosmos and gone back to my original Vive until this mess is sorted and the face plate mod is released.  Its a great headset, pity about the software and controller support that HTC provides.  Lets hope the HTC will sort this mess out before the Valve Index becomes available in Australia or Oculus enters the premium headset market.  Starting to feel I've bought a lemon.   A very expensive lemon!

    I'll be waiting in anticipation.

If you don't like new Vive ecosystem, you can disable " Use VIVE Origin as your default VR home" button on Vive console and press system button twice on left controller to summon SteamVR dashboard. Maybe you can try?

HTC actually leave some space for users to choose which ecosystem they prefer. At least I prefer new Vive ecosystem so far imho lol.

As for Vive Console, I thought it have to work with SteamVR together......or is there any way to close Vive console?

I have made some progress with this.

First the not so good things.

I cant get this running from the Lens, the game icon appears there,
but when I click it, only the game introduction video starts to run and it runs endlessly,
the game does not start although I hit the start button.

I start the game like this:
    - sign in to Steam
    - start the Cosmos link box
    - start SteamVR
    - start the right controller
    - start the game with the controller, by clicking the game icon

However, it is strange that the game does not start every time, sometimes simply nothing happens when I click the game icon.
Then I close the Steam and VR stuff and repeat the procedure, with the next attempt it usually starts.

    Good news:

I was able to get a pretty decent frame rate with new graphics settings.

Previously I had made the graphics settings in the game when not having the VR on. But it is like the VR version would be a different game with its own specific settings.
When I found the graphics settings in the VR game I tried putting all of the settings as low as possible.
Then the game was running with quite good FPS. The image quality was not very good, but not too bad either.
Next step will be testing and finding settings that would give better graphics, but not hurting the FPS.

I had same problem before, but I found the button is "View details" not "Launch" later.

Btw, I thought lens is different from SteamVR. Maybe u can press Vive button on your CRs and see if it's what u are looking for lol.
