  1. Got my pimax crystal coming soon. I was able to demo one my friend bought, and the contrast between headsets was stark. Not only is the crystal far clearer, the ability to use OpenXR was amazing. Instant performance. It felt like my 4090 was finally able to perform as it should. You don't realise how badly vive console and steamvr are hobbling performance until you get out of it entirely. So it will be goodbye to HTC forever. Well done fellas. You managed to turn someone who bought a vive OG and a vive pro 2 into a never again customer. Of course I will warn everyone I know to avoid HTC also. However, good luck to everyone else here, I hope you one day get a proper resolution.
  2. Did the update to 2.0.24.5 last night, and it has helped slightly. There is still the same stutter at random times, but it isn't quite as jarring. Still not right, but an improvement. Btw, it took 2 weeks for my last post to go live. WTF. These forums are messed up! Let's see how long for this one to go live. Posted 15 June 23!
  3. I'm getting the same problem as bluemonkey now also. After a reinstall of console, it ran really well. But the next day the problem came back. Image stutter when moving my head. If I don't move my head, the image is smooth. I've tried a million things. HAGS/rebar on/off, all 90/120hz modes, nvidia control panel options, different res in steamvr, openXRtoolkit on/off, reprojection on/off, all misc apps on/off, etc, all settings I can think of. Nothing makes any difference. Happens in game and out of it, so it's not performance related. FPS is great, but tracking stutters.
  4. @Bluemonkey yeah I'm getting the same problem now also. After a reinstall of console, it ran really well. But the next day the problem came back. Image stutter when moving my head. 5. Fixed it. Tried disabling all sorts of software, rgb, system monitors, etc. Nothing worked. Ended up uninstalling vive console and installing again. It's working nicely. Only a very occasional stutter, and the motion reprojection seems a million times better to boot. Quite happy having it locked at 45fps now. I didn't even try the beta yet, not sure I'll even need to. Still on 2.0.23.2. I should have reinstalled vive console first but haven't really had time to mess with it much. But might help someone if they're having issues.
  6. I've been testing a fair bit. It seems I can't avoid a stutter, or slight warp in the image every 10-15 seconds or so. It seems to be based on head movement, doesn't happen if I keep my head still. But when moving it will randomly just feel like a slight hiccup. It is fairly annoying, but can live with it. Anyone know how to stop this from happening? Happens in steam VR home environment, in games, etc. VP2/4090/latest drivers/beta.
  7. Just got my 4090 today, had a few hours with it. Vive Pro 2, beta console, latest nvidia drivers. Everything seems to work well. Tried 90 and 120hz modes. Noticed the top 1/4 of my image would "tear" or warp in the steamVR home environment after exiting DCS, but not sure if it's repeatable etc. Still early days.
  8. Ok, so it seems Vive Pro 2 @ 120hz is still broken. But I'd like to confirm if 90hz is good for everyone with 4080/4090 and Vive Pro 2....? Please tell us if you have the latest SteamVR beta and vive console software. We have @wonderblistersaying 90hz works. @MMtsays 120hz is broken, but have you tried 90hz recently? @VSK"confirms" latest update fixed something, but is this 90hz only, or also 120hz? It would be good if you can all confirm 90hz is "problem free". Or if it stutters etc. Also if Afterburner or any system monitoring software is known to give you issues, and if so, does turning those off fix the problems entirely? etc. Thankyou in advance for any info you can provide.
  9. Interesting. I first got the original vive and 2 base stations. No problems with them. But the stations started buzzing after many years of use, sometimes loudly, but they kept working. So I decided to get VP2 and 2 new stations. The VP2 and stations ALL failed inside 18 months. One station failed twice! HTC Australia were very good though. RMAd, with all postage paid by them both ways, each time. Professional, courteous support. Zero complaints there. But the last station RMA was just outside warranty, and they tried to get out of it. After some pushback they did end up replacing it, to their credit. Thank god for Australian consumer laws. But going forward, I don't think they'll look after me should they fail again. So now I have reliability concerns about their hardware, and lax software support.....
  10. Thankyou Jackrip and BaronPsycho for the updates. Much appreciated. It must REALLY suck having paid for a premium headset, a fortune for a 4080/4090, and then having this crap holding you back. I hope a solution arrives soon for you. :< I'm ok with a 3080 atm, no glitches, but if I hadn't seen this thread before getting a 40x0, I'd be right pissed! HTC need to fix this crap right quick or I'll be looking at other vendors going forward I think.
  11. Can someone please update me with the status of Vive Pro 2 atm with 40x0 series GPU? From what I've read above, it seems 120hz is broken, but 90hz is ok? Can anyone confirm it would be ok to go with 4080/4090 at 90hz? Thanks in advance.
