  1. Which cable mate? that one which goes to the headset? (angled HDMI?) or this one that goes to the computer? Why have you changed it? If you mean that cable that goes to the headset i suppose you must have got another from VIVE because the one of its end is angled so it s a dedicated one. If you write something , describe it, noone knows what you do have on your mind
  2. Okay, so the recommended method to turn off the headset is by turning off the Vive console fitst. No matter if I turn off the Vive console or SteamVR first , then on the steamvr window we can see " Closing..." (quite normal as always) but then Windows freezes with the coil whine - The only help is to turn off the Linkbox - then after a few seconds appears the other steamvr window with the information about steamVR error. Then I click on "exit steamVR" and it turns off normally. I ve searched through the web and I found one solution that seems to work but not always tho. Someone suggested that "Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling" should be turned OFF in Windows. 2-3 times it helped, but another time the problem occured again. Turnin this option off is not a good solution for gamers either. So I turned it ON again. Any suggestions from here? Vive Pro 2 Vive Console 2.1.23.2 SteamVR 2.3.5 Windows 11 Pro
  3. Same problem here. Freezes no matter if u turn off the vive console or steamVR first. At the end I have to shut off the linkbox to unfreeze the Windows
  4. Very helpful support I see.. It seems that some people have already had the same problem and nobody from the tech support can help? really? In my country we call it "taking water in mouth" when some problems happen and nobody wants to talk about it. Pity.
  5. Man, I use Vive Pro 2 mostly for MSFS. About one year ago when I started using VR for MSFS I ve been trying for weeks to figure out which sequence of turning on MSFS with VR is the best, I mean what should I turn on first - MSFS, SteamVr, Viveconsole etc. Why? Because normally when I tried to start MSFS in SteamVR Home from the game list - MSFS used to open but there were tremendous lags. I also figured that problem was also with Vive Console from the website , not a Steam Version. So... since a year or so I dont have any problems with MSFS. 1. STEAMVR downloaded from steam 2. Vive console downloaded from steam My sequence: 1. I turn on the headset with linkbox 2. I open MSFS in my Geforce experience , but I suppose if you dont have it you just open MSFS in steam 3. MSFS starts to load and in the last 10 seconds of loading you can see that Vive Console turns itself on automatically and SteamVR too. You dont have to open these apps. They just load automatically. 4. In MSFS I click on Enter VR mode. Thats it. To turn off: 1. In MSFS - exit to windows 2. In the small SteamVR window - "exit SteamVR" 3. Turn off the linkbox
  6. Hello. Sometimes when I turn on the Vive console and SteamVR starts automatically too (with steamVR home) , I can see color vertical lines in my right lense. It always happen only in the right one. I dont know how can I connect this problem with.. I ve looked through the web and some people had the same problem or similar one - so they noticed that this issue was gone after 30-60 minutes after turning the headset on. I noticed that too. They suggested it could be connected with incorrect turning off the headset - I mean it depends if you turn off Vive console first and then STEAMVR, or first SteamVR then vive console. In my case I always used to exit steamVR inside the app, then my headset used to turn itself off and then Vive console used to shut itself off automatically too. But sometimes STeamVR or games crash , we all know, then I have to turn off manually the headset first on VIVE link , so the windows could unfreeze and work properly. Can someone from the technical admins tell me what is happening with my VIVE PRO2? IMG_7604.MOV
  7. I forgot to mention: Ensure that you DONT USE SteamVR BETA - it must be the stable one - 1.24.7 !
  8. I think that all guys with the VIVE PRO have the same problem as I had. Flickering/glitches vanished after procedure below - just two updates ago. This version of the Vive console is absolutely stable 1. Uninstall steamVR from steam and VIVE console (everything from VIVE, viveport too, just all the VR software you have, check twice you' ve got nothing installed either from steam either from htc website) 2. Unplug all the cables from your VR to PC 3. System restart (Windows restart) 4. Install a) SteamVR from STEAM b) Vive console from STEAM (dont use any files from htc vive website - it is causing the conflict with vive software from steam) 5. Plug all the cables from VR to PC. 6. System restart (Windows restart) 7. Turn on the Linkbox (HMD turns red) 8. Right click on Vive console icon (autostart, right down corner) --> "TURN ON CONSOLE" Vive console turns on SteamVR automatically, set up your room once , voila ! Every time turn on the console the way described above ! I ve got 120HZ (extreme mode) on HTC VIVE PRO 2 with RTX 3080, no problems at all.
  9. Two things I am sure. One - there should be just one software from one developer - VIVE. SteamVR from steam ok - because it's for few HMD's , but Vive Console should be only from Vive. Now we have Vive console on steam and second one installed from website installer. It is very confusing for many users Second - if it is possible to work only with SteamVR from steam and Vive console from steam - there should be a guide on Vive website , I mean any info about alternative (to vivesetup file) way to setup VIVE PRO 2
  10. It is no so easy how you think. Yes, this is the standalone installer from Vive website. But - if your vive pro 2 software comes only from steam- I mean SteamVR and Vive console for steam, this file wants doesnt see anything installed from Vive itself in the system and wants to install original Vive software - you cant skip it, so for 100% it would download second Vive console and there would be a conflict.
  11. unfortunately there is only one problem. Every time I turn on VR in steam I must calibrate the room again ...why? bug?
  12. All right, so it seems that this beta version fixes all the problems which last beta updates were causing. No shaking, no glitching, no reprojecting. Back to normal at last ! Windows 11, RTX 3080, Vive Pro 2 , setting: extreme 120Hz Thank you! Of course I wanted to make it for 100% so : 1. Uninstall Steam VR and Vive console for steamVR from steam 2. Unplug linkbox cables from PC (HDMI and USB) 3. Windows restart. 4. Install SteamVR and Vive console for steam 5. In vive console setting check the box to download beta versions - in this case this one ( 20.0.23.1) Voila.
  13. shaking/tearing when moving the head (HMD) terrible update ! Please fix it !! RTX 3080, Vive PRO 2 , Windows 11
  14. Thanks, finally everything installed how it should be done - so, how you suggested - I installed only SteamVR from steam and Vive console from steam. Then I connected VIVE PRO 2 to the computer and now there is no conflict, everything is working fine. Even my old problem with grey and black screen dissapeared.Great My last question is: when I used to do it by downloading the vive software setup from Vive website, naturally ViVEPORT was installed. I bought some games from there. Now I can see that there is no VIVEPORT in steam. So I thought : all right , I will download Viveport as a standalone software. But... when I start to install Viveport , there is an information that the file will install all the VIVE software , so of course I stopped the installation to avoid my old problem with all the conflicts. How can I get my games from viveport now?
  15. All right , so you suggest not to use any setup file from VIVE official website, only download SteamVR and Vive console from Steam, then connect HMD with linkbox to the computer , turn it on and done?
