Thomas B.
Hi, Can ArUco markers be placed on non planar surfaces that are not perpendicular to the ground? I have a scenario in an aircraft, where the walls are round (fuselage). At best, the markers can be placed on the back of the seats (in front of the users). But, these are not strictly perpendicular to the ground... Can I use the ArUco markers somehow in this scenario? What would be your advice? Thank you in advance for your answer. Tony PH Lin
Hi @Thomas B., Theoretically there is no limitation where ArUco Marker should be placed, so you may place it on any plane. In our real practice case, user may need to look ArUco Marker from different angles for CV to rise the recognition correctness. So you may need to avoid to put the marker near the corner or somewhere may have physical objects to block CV in your environment. In addition, we will roll out the new feature Spatial Anchor in coming Sep release shortly which may be a better option for your use case. Thanks. Thomas B.
Thank you for your reply! I understand that markers have to be planar. I am looking forward your new feature!
