Well, let's go a little further.
Try this out:

That's kind of the end all be all of USB driver troubleshooting.
Thanks,-John C

The first thing I would try is removing and reinstalling SteamVR USB drivers. You can do that in SteamVR settings. I can walk you through it if you're having trouble finding it, but it's fairly straight forward.
Thanks,-John C

I can confirm that did succeed at putting another headset on the same base station. In fact, there's no limit to how many you could put on the same base stations, as points out, the base stations are essentially "dumb" so there isn't a limitation in that regard.
You can have as many people as you want in the play area so long as they don't block the tracking sensors from the base stations. Of course, you probably shouldn't have anyone too close to the player for safety reasons.
Yes, we are aware of Steam Tracking 2.0. It's very exciting stuff!
It is, we set up demos of Star Trek: Bridge Crew in that exact configuration, Four(!) HMDs and Eight(!!!) wands in the same 9x9 square with only two base stations.
Thank you,-John C

That's great! Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

Try this first:
Isolate the USB hardware as the source of the issue
One of the most common problems with Vive customers is related to the USB settings or setup. Since the tracking, positioning, buttons input and status of all the devices is sent to the computer via USB, a USB issue will lead to major problems with the overall Vive experience.
Before proceeding with these steps, make sure of the following:
- All the cable connections have been verified and tightened.
- The link box has been properly connected, on its right order.
- Original USB provided cables are being used.
- HMD is receiving power.
- Customer is not using USB HUBs or USB concentrators.
- Vive USB is connected directly to the computer’s mainboard ports.
Change port from 3.0 to 2.0
USB 2.0 is the most compatible interface on modern devices. USB 3.0 is faster, but is not always stable with configurations such as Vive. If the Link Box is currently connected to a USB 3.0 port, advise switching the connection to a USB 2.0 port instead.
NOTE: For the best experience, connect the USB cables of Vive directly to the PC, instead of a USB Hub.
and then this:Remove All SteamVR USB Devices
The Vive system is composed of about 9 different USB drivers, including Bluetooth, controllers, camera, receivers and audio, among others. Due to different reasons, like software updates, change of connections, system updates or malfunction of a device, the USB drivers might get into conflict and reinstalling them is a good way to get everything back to its working state.
- Go to SteamVR > Settings > Developer.
- Click on Remove All SteamVR USB Devices.
- Once finished, the program will prompt a confirmation of the process.
- Disconnect the Link box AC Adapter and the Link box USB cable from the computer.
- Close SteamVR.
- Connect the AC Adapter back to the Link box and then connect the USB cable directly to the computer to a USB 2.0 port.
- Open SteamVR and check if all the devices all properly recognized, by going to SteamVR > Settings > USB > Refresh.
- These are the default drivers:
Vive Link Box:
· Hub
· Hub Controller
· Bluetooth
Vive Headset:
· Watchman Board
· Camera
· Audio Device
· Main Board
· Wireless Receiver 1
· Wireless Receiver 2
Note: This list includes the drivers of the devices directly connected to the computer by USB, as it is the HMD and Link box. Controllers and Base Stations are connected to the headset through Bluetooth and then to the computer, so these devices are not going to be visible on this list.
If it's still not working, let me know and we'll try something a little more drastic.
Thanks,-John C

Ah so it ended up being the linkbox in your case. They should be able to replace your linkbox for you if you contact them. Did you do that already?
Irk26 has it right. You can reach them at www.vive.com/us/support/contactus
Of course, change the "us" part to your appropriate country or just navigate to the site as Irk26 suggested.
I can also continue to assist here if you prefer.

I'm afraid Brazil is out of our service area. Where did you originally purchase it?
Thanks,-John C

It does seem like there's an issue with the HMD. You should contact your local support chat for an RMA if you haven't already.
Thanks,-John C

I responded to your PM, let's figure this out.
Thanks,-John C

Open up SteamVR application > click on SteamVR drop down menu > Select "Settings" > select "USB" and tell me what you see. On a working Vive, all of those items should be bright grey. If any of them are dark grey, that means there is probably an issue with the component.

I just ran a fresh install on my PC to test. It works fine. You're downloading from www.vive.com right? There's something going on your PC or your network which is preventing the download. The executable works...
There's usually 5 components that show up in Add/Remove Programs. It should look like this: -
We've gone through a number of software revisions since May. What version are you currently on? Are you running as administrator? Do you have all your anti-virus software disabled?
Thanks,-John C

Thank you for the information! Glad you got your new headset and it's working. We'll have to see when you give the longer test run, but I'm remaining positive.
Have a good weekend, everyone!

As a last resort, you can try this method:

See if that works for you. Out of curiosity, what's your motherboard?
Thanks,-John C

That's actually very interesting. I'm glad you were able to get it to work and perhaps this information will help others with similar hardware configurations.
Thanks!-John C

Well, according to Nvidia's website, the 1050gpu is not considered by them to be "VR ready"
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/10series/geforce-gtx-1050/
Here is a current list of Nvidia's supported GPUs:
https://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/vr/supported-gpus
And you can also run a VR ready test for your whole system from us:

I hope that answers your question,-John C

Please provide answers to the questions asked earlier by in this thread. It will be very helpful if we can get as much information as possible about your issue and the circumstances surrounding it.
Thank you!-John C

Please keep this to our one thread: http://community.viveport.com/t5/Technical-Support/flashing-grey-screen/m-p/9430/highlight/true
If you could also answer jagibson's questions regarding what you're experiencing and post in that thread too, that would be great.Thank you,

Hi
As previously posted in this thread, we are aware of this issue and are pursuing a solution. Once we have more information for you, we will respond.
Thank you for your patience,-John C
-
Yes, we're aware of the situation and are looking into it.
Can you all tell me when you bought your Vives and from where? There have been several versions and as you know, the most recent models are slightly different (mostly lighter components) than the ones that launched a year ago.
That would be useful information for us.
Thank you,-John C

As of June 16th of this year, SteamVR beta updated 1497655233 has addressed this issue.
https://steamcommunity.com/games/250820/announcements/detail/3062859752408416744
Previously, 208 error was reported when it should have been a 108 error. Valve has corrected this in the above release.
Thanks,-John C

, I responded to you in the other thread, but it occurs to me: is your headset exposed to direct sunlight? That can interfere with the infrared tracking.
