  1. So I recently brought a COSMOS ELITE and the wands are lagging, the headset is fine, moves perfectly, but the wands are lagging like every few seconds... ???!?!?! Even in direct view of both stations, I've closed my blinds, opened them, turned lights on and stuff, still same issue, resyncing tried (New user) Any tips or ideas please?
  2. It's a face plate? It's on the site? I''ve attached an image. All 4 faceplates (Cosmos Standard, Cosmos Elite, Cosmos Play, Cosmos AR) the AR is the one with the quad cameras! Technically it's 6, 4 on front 1 on each side First one = Play Second = Elite Third = Cosmos standard Forth = AR In that order in the image, Top left to Bottom Right. You'll have to buy the faceplate for AR when it's released.
  3. The COSMOS ELITE is a replacement and up to date version of the PRO with higher resolution and ability to do standard VR, and AUGMENTED REALITY no other headset I'm aware of can do BOTH THINGS! And HTC have said they'd look at future plates for the COSMOS, my guess EYE TRACKING there is a VIVE PRO EYE that has eye tracking. There's no reason one can't come for the ELITE! Technically the COSMOS ELITE is the best headset on the market, people say index but that's only because the INDEX has (Slightly higher HZ and FOV) -Talking headset only not controllers- Also the COSMOS ELITE recently appeared on AMAZON so that's another dent to INDEX, amazon has a 2 year warranty, unlimited replacements or money back UPTO 2 years, if you're in the UK that's 6 YEARS.. yes 6 years warranty! And next day delivery on the headset (you have 30 days to send back the old one) Unlike crappy INDEX where they had to refund tons of people due to lies about what systems it could use, (example) claiming it could run on the AMD 290+ and NVIDIA EQUIVALENT (false information from valve) it couldn't... but the COSMOS ELITE CAN the COSMOS ELITE can use old graphics cards without issues. (Keep note, being used is different to requirements for games) each game has it's own system requirements. --- If you've got the money you can smash all headset builds out; Cosmos Elite + Wireless + Index Controllers = Best setup, ^ That's more expensive than buying a single full kit, but it's worth it for the best combination
  4. Cosmos Elite is the best headset to date, it's resolution and colours are better than "Valve Index" the index only has higher HZ... And FOV. Oh and Unlike the crappy INDEX where they falsely listed it working with older cars for THOUSANDS to find out VALVE lied.. and had to issue refunds.. the COSMOS ELITE actually works with the listed graphics cards, like the AMD 290X or Nvidia counterpart.. The Cosmos Elite just recently got listed on AMAZON so you can now buy it from AMAZON! and enjoy that 2 years warranty with unlimited replacements or money back for up to 2 years, and next day delivery! The cosmos Elite also has an AUGMENTED REALITY faceplate coming, not even the INDEX can do augmented!
  5. Just went to install a game, but got this--- has been detected as infected with "Trojan.Ciusky.Gen.13"??? A TROJAN? is this a misinformation or actually a TROJAN! 2 Games failed to install out of 30+ Into the Radius VR Hard Night VR
  6. pretty sure 1.0 wands work with 2.0 base stations...
  7. @gumeroza I'd suggest reinstalling STEAM (don't need to delete games), completely remove viveport, restart your PC, then try a reinstallation, the fact it's screwing up means your STEAM IS BROKE. I never had to shut down steam when installing, it sounds like you have some windows issues, I'd suggest an SFC SCAN of your system directory, and some file system error checks, you can find tutorials on windows website, or you can do a windows repair via disk e.t.c (not recommended as the first step). works for me perfectly fine, never had issues installed steam and viveport on 2 pc's 1 laptop! this is a USER ISSUE your device! I promise 100% if you format your drive and reinstall windows and stuff, it'll work. (this always works) because of a system being RUINED! Proving it's not the SOFTWARE!
  8. @VibrantNebula Nope it was never resolved, also. Also nor was amazon, that thing died, no idea what happened there.... 3rd week, Been looking left and right, NOTHING In regards to mobile; Ah so that's why it never came to phone? I never seen any official announcement on why it was never released, I was hoping it was coming, one of the main reasons I'm also after it, but meh can't get everything, I thought there would be a faceplate for phone support! Because there's already 3, (Wireless, Basetation, and Augmented) Augmented looks really promising and in the future it would be something I plan to save up for! I don't know why various phone companies wouldn't support, i'd at least expect (Samsung) to support it and (Apple) and (Google) and (asus) and (razer) another thing where HTC leaves everything down to ADMINISTRATORS and forum staff answering questions... because no where has this ever been announced, I just googled "Cosmos phone support cancelled" found nothing! @zzy And no worries!, You're not to blame! You seem helpful! It's why I use forums more than Q/A when I see dev's and employees and admins more active e.t.c, rather speak to people who seem more on the loop than a company itself! (again not all people are bad) but there's always that those few bad eggs! Plus people like you are more active and always helping out on the forums! again I have no idea why or how I posted this in handtracking, (must of been a quick slip and miss)
  9. Don't get me wrong though, some VIVE/HTC staff are really useful and nice, but there's a few bad eggs.. and It really puts me off... It seems like the staff, employees, and such on the forums have more knowledge than those who do the email support. (my experience so far) p.s I thought I posted this in Vive Cosmos Developer FAQs not in hand tracking, I've got no idea why it's in the hand tracking section. I'm still trying to buy a COSMOS ELITE, but I have no idea when it'll be on AMAZON, I wish I could get an answer on this, I really want it on AMAZON(UK)
  10. Wouldn't trust "Vive CONTACT support" for saving ducks... Contacted them a few times, Asked them, Hey when will you be selling the COSMOS and COSMOS ELITE on AMAZON, or providing it to stores to sell like (Argos, Amazon, Overclockers, Scan e.t.c) Apparently none of those are approved retailers by HTC.. Asked for a manager, basically IGNORED ME and just reposted there last response (RUDE AND IGNORANT).. 10/10 on support. HTC clearly sells it on AMAZON (COSMOS) heck there's even a dedicated page for it, heck even a DEVELOPER responded to someone's Question on there.Rather ask and hope someone who deals with the VIVE FORUMS maybe an EMPLOYEE would be best suited for this, because whoever I spoke to, completely made everything I said skim over their heads. Now I understand the general supports is filled mostly with general desk staff, and people that are limited on Q/A but if they don't know anything, then they shouldn't basically say NOPE.. https://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/HTCVIVE/VIVECOSMOS/page/0D462189-E1AA-4D4C-8FD2-9ABA7CEB3369 ^ These types of amazon pages are developed and approved by AMAZON after being in conjunction with the manufacturer
  11. So i take it the displays wont get damaged due to long usage e.t.c I know headsets can get damaged to external light like the (SUN) and (EXTREME BRIGHTNESS) luckily my curtains are always shut And, thanks for the health concerns and warning concerns. I'll keep them noted, especially if I ever get the headset if it ever comes to amazon at some point..
  12. No problem, easiest way, and less weight on your head 😄 If you've got a trackbelt and use full body, look at attaching it to that, 😛 or like I said, ram it to your waist, (wouldn't recommend your pocket) due heat distribution e.t.c
  13. Now this sounds dumb, but due to reasons I game from like let's say I wake up at 4Pm, game until like 7-10AM the next day, sometimes a whole day if I want to, (Please don't question this) we all have issues... mines not because im addicted to gaming.. anyway.. I was wondering, is there a limit to how long you should use a headset? Would it damage the screens, burnout or something? should you it chance to cool down e.t.c?
  14. Sorry that I never got back to you, damn comment limitation is a pain on these forums, make like 10 posts BOOM wait 24hours. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers?, and making sure your motherboard BIO's is up to date? (Reason for this) stability, not just for the headset but for a majority of devices. The fact nobody else has responded to this thread is weird anyway, I can only throw out random my guess could fix issues.Check all the cables are firmly fitted, and try if you've got a spare slots move the Headset cables into different ports on your computer, A typical cleaning (deletion and reinstallation) of the drivers should fix the issue, remove all SteamVR devices and reinstall them. Also some people don't put there computers in MAXIMUM POWER MODE, make sure your PC isn't set to power saving.. because that can turn USB ports off and devices.. Your spec's are fine, and if the issue was resolved by things HTC gave you, then you should retrace those steps, if not try what I said, remove the devices from your computer, then uninstall them, restart your pc, and plug them back in and do the whole setup garbage then see if that works!
  15. I see one potential issue.. your steamvr is out of date.. it was updated to 1.13.10..... You should really keep your stuff updated, then after you've done that, restart your pc then comment, also make sure your windows is up to date, and bios drivers, and e.t.c gpu e.t.c Also right click steamVR and do a verify via properties.
  16. Buy an anker powerback, then do what some smart people do? run a cable down to your waist and attach the bank to your waist? you're one of the rare few I know that slaps it on there head. You can easily buy a long enough cable from amazon...😛 Tuck the cable under your T-Shirt? Simple as? That's what people do with mobiles, and ipods, and mp3 players, slap it in your pocket or waist, run your earphone cables up your top, and boom? The only thing that should be on your head is the headset and the wireless adapter.. and any external headphones or microphone you use..
  17. Is it under warranty? How long have you had the controller? Where did you buy your headset? Have you tried the support section? https://www.vive.com/uk/support/ ----- Please change region accordingly. Have you contacting HTC vive a support ticket? https://www.vive.com/uk/support/contactus/ ---------- Please change region accordingly You can change region at the bottom right of the webpage!
  18. THIS THREAD MAY NOT HELP EVERYONE..... I've noticed a few threads popping up about issues, artifacting, computer not detecting your headset e.t.c Things you should and shouldn't do;;;;;;;; Update your Motherboard Bios. Make sure gpu drivers are up to date. If you've updated your GPU BIOS DRIVERS (not recommended) please revert to the original version. Do not turn a 290 - 290X or a 2070-2080 via claims of a BIOS UPDATE (this is an example) and not recommended.. Make sure your USB port drivers are all up to date... I'd recommend using the USB UPDATES that can sometimes be found on the manufacturer site of your motherboard, DO NOT, I HAVE TO CAPITALISE THIS, DO NOT BUY A GPU FROM SOME RANDOM STRANGER FROM LIKE EBAY.. WHY? BECAUSE YOU'VE GOT NO IDEA HOW IT WAS TRULY USED, SOME PEOPLE USE CARDS LIKE 2080TIS IN BITCOIN RIGS AND MORE AND CAN HEAVILY IMPACT A GPUS... EVEN KILLING IT AFTER A WHILE, also only because a GPU is new doesn't mean it wont have artifacting or issues. How to do a fresh headset install after doing the common add/remove via htc e.t.c ;;;;;;;;;;;;;; On windows 10 go to your bottom left search box and type in (Device Manager) Open Device Manager Look for the headset in device manager Right Click the device Choose properties A new box appears, choose (Driver) Uninstall the device Click yes to whatever it asks Remove the device from your computer Restart the computer Plug the headset back in If you are one that trusts Third-Party Software, you can either use (CCleaner, or Driver Booster) Both are fantastic applications and can do the above automatically for you, but manual is also a good way. Always Make sure your Computer meets the minimum recommended specifications for the headset. Please note, the required specifications for each headset, are just the specs to use the headset, all games have there own required and recommended specifications, if your PC doesn't meet these then your computer may not be able to run those games in VR! And if it does, then any issues will be related to you and your system alone Random System file fixes;;;;;;;;;;;;;; On start type (CMD) Right Click Command Prompt and Choose administration. Type SFC/scannow This will do a random PC scan to check for any system files that maybe boinked and will attempt to fix them https://www.ubackup.com/windows-10/repair-windows-10-using-command-prompt.html The above link is a really basic knowledge on how to do a windows repair if you ever have any system issues that could be ruining your PC like file related, games not running, files not opening e.t.c Resetting your headset;;;;;;;; From your computer, open the VIVE Console app. Click , and then select Settings > Troubleshooting > Reset headset and settings. I MUST MAKE THIS CLEAR......... I AM NOT A HTC STAFF MEMBER, I AM NOT MICROSOFT, I HOLD NO RESPONSIBILTY FOR ANYTHING THAT COULD HAPPEN TO YOUR PC This thread is just some basic how to on some small resolutions for making things work e.t.c or if you ever need support for your PC, Always make a support ticket to HTC if you have done everything else you can think of, and always check vive support. https://www.vive.com/us/support/ ----------- This is US support https://www.vive.com/uk/support/ -------------- This is UK support https://www.vive.com/eu/support/ -------------- This is EU support At the bottom right hand side of each of those pages will be a region selection box, please select the region that matches yours, or otherwise, please select support at the top of the page ^ And at the very bottom will also be a support section choose the "Contact Us" https://www.vive.com/uk/support/contactus/ to submit a ticket, please note chats and such are time and region based, and please select your appropriate region!
  19. That's GPU artifacting (Seems like it) I could be wrong, but I know a bit about artifacting, you can also google this stuff,, your GPU is having issues, what GPU do you have, how long have you had it, please note what I'm about to say is honest and serious Your GPU maybe brand new, but that wont matter, brand new off the line GPUS can have artifacting sometimes it's like a lottery, the same as a CPU, 2 people may own an i9-9990k and both may have the same cooling, but one person could get 4.4Ghz the other could get 4.9Ghz (EXAMPLE) The visual error or ARTIFACTING is usually down to VRAM. Have you overclocked your GPU? Have you updated the GPU BIOS? Some people do that and they shouldn't, and it can ruin the GPU! What GPU do you have? Was it yours originally, or was it brought from someone, or given to you? Also only because your monitor may not experience issues doesn't mean other things wont, loads of factors come into artifacting, frame rate and more. Please try the following, if any of the above have been done; Remove the GPU OVERCLOCK REVERT THE GPU BIOS BACK TO THE ORIGINAL UNDERCLOCK THE GPU - yes sometimes this can help but if you have to underclock, your gpu has issues for sure. Update the GPU DRIVERS Update your motherboard bios? Some people never do this and they should every once in a while, this isn't done by "Windows updater" this is a manual task and you have to pay attention to what you're doing or risk screwing up your motherboard.
  20. First of, you are obviously new to computers, only because a monitor works, doesn't mean the graphics card isn't dead... a VR HEADSET is more demanding than a usual monitor.. it's like artifacting, one game can get artifacts the other wont... a brand new 2080ti off the line can have artifacting... your monitor working doesn't mean CRUD.. so don't act like it means anything, that's really arrogant.. Also 199 euro? could have saved tons if you claimed the repair on the house insurance... And if the device is still under warranty and I'm guessing it's not because you paid, it would of been a free repair by htc, so you've done SOMETHING... I had to spend money on 2 new 16TB HDD's because of my the cables, I didn't blame the HDD's I blamed myself and the cables.. Anyway, I'd suggest trying the headset in a different PC.. if it works in another, then it's your device, until then please don't blame the headset straight out.. you've made no claims to having tried it in another computer! Because it sounds like a graphics card input error, have you changed the bios on the GPU, have you updated the BIOS on the GPU, sometimes people do that when they shouldn't..
  21. Okay first of all, you should have gone with 4x8GB sticks.. not 2x16... ROOKIE MISTAKE.. How fast is the RAM? what's the ram speed? Are all the parts new, is the PC new, is it used? What cooler are you using the for i7 9700K, is the GPU overclocked, is the ram Overclocked.. Have you updated the MOTHERBOARD BIOS? that has to be done MANUALLY via a really not so simple process.. depending on how you wish to do it, it's not done via windows updater... Have you updated your gpu drivers?
  22. What graphics card, what motherboard, how much ram, what's your RAM SPEED, what OS are you using! Are you using the latest GPU DRIVERS, they can be updated almost every week
