  1. I have uninstalled Vive Console from Steam. Downloaded v2.1.182 (not the BETA version) Vive Console logs submitted again.
  2. Another? I've sent Vive Console log and SteamVR logs. I will do another. I have done so many tests for this repaired Vive Pro 2... It's coming to a point where I just want a replacement please. It was faulty from new, but got worse since repair.
  3. Hello, My Vive Pro 2 came back from repair because I always had display issues, black screen, mostly with the left eye such as black horizontal lines, black vertical lines, display flipped horizontally, green/red vertical lines and the audio buzzing in both headphones. Reset / Reinstalling USB Drivers (Vive Console) Reset Headset (Vive Console) Uninstalled SteamVR BETA Uninstalled Vive Console BETA Uninstalled Vive Wireless Uninstalled VivePort Restarted PC Installed SteamVR BETA Installed Vive Console BETA I have 3 monitors. I removed 2 of them Tested Vive Pro 2 with different DisplayPorts (I have 3 Display Ports on my 3080Ti Founders Edition) My Vive Pro 2 was working before. It would produce a display. After it was repaired, I plugged it in and I cannot get rid of this Error 200 code. SteamVR detects the Vive Pro 2, there is no display. steamvr failed initialization with error code VRInirror_IPC Compositor Connect Failed I have tested this with the Linkbox, power off and on, unplugged so there is no power. I have tested this with HTC Wireless, which is a short cable to the Vive Pro 2. This means I am not using my Linkbox or long cable to the Vive Pro 2 from the Linkbox. You have my SteamVR report and Vive Console Report. I am out of ideas and I spent a lot of time doing tests. I just want a Vive Pro 2 that works please. I think it's time you have this Vive Pro 2 back and I have a replacement.
  4. RMA only took 1 week, that is record timing. It has come back and it's not working at all. I connected it with the cable and it said there is a firmware update. It completed the firmware. It is not working. Getting error 200 all the time. I have tested different USB and Display Ports. I have reinstalled the USB drivers for the link box. Reset all settings in Vive Console.
  5. Of course I will try it, just don't know what any of that means. I'm hoping they fixed all the issues I listed not just the part about "switches off". Audio buzzing fixed too hopefully.
  6. @C.T. what does this all mean please? All it says for error is "switches off", but if you see above. I listed a lot more issues than that. The black lines, black screen, audio buzzing. Have they looked at everything? I listed all of the above issues on a letter with the Vive Pro 2 parcel.
  7. UPS delivered the Vive Pro 2 from UK to HTC repairs in Romania. Now to see how long it's in the repairs for. Delivered On Friday, September 03 at 17:49 at Reception
  8. Nothing to do with OC or bad CPU/GPU. Other VR headsets work fine. It's the Vive Pro 2 itself with bad quality control. That's why some of us are told to RMA by HTC themselves.
  9. UPS just collected my Vive Pro 2...first time I've ever had to RMA a product. Lets see how long it takes for a repair. UK to HTC in Romania. They got a full report of all the issues with it.
  10. It's a quality control issue. A lot of people posting about this. I had the vertical lines, I also had horizontal lines - mostly due to motion and noticeable when looking around. I even had green/red vertical lines due to the link box. The display for me even flipped horizontally once when it crashed. The display had ghost images/stuck images too - even from a fresh start after not using it a few days/on wireless, not even having the link box plugged in. Black screen in every VR session (wired & wireless). Basically the displays look amazing with high resolution, but there is a lot of interference which creates all of this crazy display issues.
  11. Ultra resolution on Vive Console + SteamVR SS 60% 2500x2500? Why not just have High resoltuion in Vive Console and leave SteamVR SS at 100% 2448x2448? Vertical lines, lots of people reporting this. Sound buzzing from the headphones, again lots of people reporting this. The vertical lines may fix itself over time, but the sound buzzing I had it since release day. Sending it back for repair.
  12. I have an open case with HTC. My Vive Pro 2 is due to be collected by UPS in a couple of days. 1st time ever having to RMA a product and I've had a lot of tech over many years. I managed to grab a photo of a ghost image in the left eye, using my mobile phone. I've had ghost images before, but didn't take photos of them. It has been a few weeks since seeing one, but finally managed to get an example to show the HTC technicians. My issues:- • Red / Green vertical lines, but these have gone now. • Horizontal black lines in the left eye have gone for now. Has happened twice so far. • Stuck ghost image in the left eye has gone for now. Has happened a few times, ghost image stays for many hours or a few days. • Audio buzzing noise in both ears has always been there and still is. • Black screen for 5 seconds once in every VR session, this has always been the case and can be replicated after 2 - 30 minutes. When it happens, the screen goes black and will normally come back on and be absolutely fine again. • Black screen for 5 seconds, but the screen flipped horizontally and the colours changed. That was the only time it ever did that. --------------------------------------------- 29th August 2021 Upgraded from GTX 1080Ti to a RTX 3080Ti. I now have the Vive Pro 2 wired into the graphics card (not using HTC wireless). The black screens are still very common in every VR session, however they are a lot worse. The black screen stays all the time until I restart SteamVR. I also got a ghost image again for the first time in weeks. I managed to get a photo of it this time. I always turn off my Link Box and VR base stations when not using them. I have had ghost images whilst on HTC wireless too, this is with the Link box not even turned on or plugged in at all. Examples of previous problems with the screen (see attached)…
  13. I just got a 3080, so now I am able to unlock Extreme Vive Console - you have exceeded the maximum number of monitors I have 3 monitors. 2 are plugged in via DP and the 3rd is plugged in via HDMI. VP2 plugs in via DP, so all 4 slots are used. Is there an update on this please @C.T.?
  14. I had a response, simply being asked to send it back for repair. I am worried though due to all the posts on here.... Hi Anna, Yes, those details for my address are correct. The problem with sending the Vive Pro 2, it will go to Romania and I'm seeing a lot of posts from people sending their devices and it taking a long time. Then only to get them back stating no issues found, no repairs were done. My issues:- • Horizontal black lines in the left eye have gone for now. • Ghost image in the left eye has gone for now. • Audio buzzing noise has always been there and still is. • Black screen for 5 seconds once in every VR session, this has always been the case and can be replicated after 2 - 30 minutes. When it happens, the screen goes black and will normally come back on and be absolutely fine again. • The report I sent yesterday was to state at 12.05pm when the black screen occurred so you can check the logs to see what is happening. This time, the screen flipped horizontally and the colours changed. That was the only time it ever did that. I know my Vive Pro 2 will be gone for many weeks and I am concerned about all the other reports online from other customers that returned their HMDs. As stated above, some of the problems come and go. If the technicians receive this headset, they will say no repairs are required because they can't find a problem. This is why I took photos to record what has happened. https://i.imgur.com/W6EJE7Q.jpg https://i.imgur.com/7UXwODe.jpg Kind regards, Simon
  15. Black screen in every VR session. It is mostly after about 2 minutes of turning VR on. It can also be 30 minutes into a VR session, but it will do it every single time. Black screen occured at 12:05pm. It will go black for 5 seconds, then normally turn back on and be absolutely fine for 8+ hours. Sometimes it has hung on a black screen and taken 2 minutes to come back on again. Sometimes it never recovers and I have to unplug the HMD from the battery. It does this on both wired and wireless. This time, for the very first time since owning the VP2 on release day, it went to a black screen and I never had this before... the screen FLIPPED horizontally, so the image was backwards. Also, the colours messed up too. It stayed like this, but I could see the screen hadn't frozen, as I was able to open notepad and type, but all whilst the screen was flipped horizontally. Never had this issue before and I can use VR every single day, sometimes in VR 2 hours or sometimes 8 hours. Logs have been sent, I got this error whilst sending it, but it has worked. I took some photos through the lense. I was working in VR with SteamVR as a black background and using OVR Toolkit which allows me to have my 3 monitors in VR. After it went to a black screen at 12:05pm, you can see the images are flipped horizontally, but also changed colour to purple and it never recovered. I had to power off my HMD to fix it again. https://imgur.com/a/QSNhfJu
  16. I've had audio buzzing, lots of people have. Not had vertical lines, but I did have the green/red lines on display, but that went away. Again, a fair few people reported this too. I then started getting ghosting images in the left eye along with horizontal black lines, but that went away. I had a ticket open and was ready to send it back to HTC, but it fixed itself. The ticket remains open. I told them I wont send it now because when it gets to the technician they will say nothing is wrong with it. The only issue I get right now - buzzing audio and every single VR session, I will get a black screen where it turns off after about 2 minutes of use, the comes back on again after 5 seconds. I made a post on here about it. Some definite quality control issues. Next time something happens, if visual then I`ll do my best to take a photo. These are what I took a couple of months ago when I got the headset, but the horizontal black lines, I've not taken a photo of yet (which appeared only in the left eye).
  17. Will do tomorrow for sure. I've submitted logs before, but yes I will timestamp the moment it does it. Others must have reported the same? OG vive never did this, which makes me feel it's the Vive Console software.
  18. Vive pro 2 - random black screen Every time I go into VR, after 2 minutes or so, the screen goes black, as if it the display is off. The screen recovers 95% of the time and come back after 5 seconds. After it has done it once, I can be in VR for 8+ hours and never have the problem again. If I exit VR and go back in again, it will do it. Sometimes the other 5% it can black screen and take 2 minutes for it to recover or just not recover again. I got a feeling this is Vive Console adjusting something. Quite annoying and can be replicated every single time i go into VR. Others commented on reddit the same thing happens. Not overheating as it does it after a couple of minutes and perfectly fine after that. Latest Steam VR BETA, Vive Console BETA and latest firmware on hardware. Does this on both wired and wireless so it's not the link box either. Please help, it's the major issue I have with this headset.
  19. Ahh I see. I've already seen this post on Steam, so now the Vive Pro 2 supports this. Understood. Thanks.
  20. Hi, Did you mean v2.1.17.6? You've put v2.0.17.6 Also the Vive Lens section isn't on Steam, but it's here on the forums. The reason I came here looking is "Supported Steam VR FOV scale function" - what does this do exactly? Thank you.
  21. Oh no! I think I left my link box on all night! 1st time I've done this in 2 1/2 weeks since owning the Vive Pro 2. Now I have horizontal black banding lines across the whole display. I originally had the vertical green/red lines in the lower half of the displays, so since then I've turned off the link box every night after not using it. Since then I've been fine. Last night I didn't give my Amazon Alexa the command the 'Leave the Matrix' where it would normally turn off the base stations and the link box... so I just put my VR on today and I can see what a lot of people were reporting with these black horizontal banding lines. I hope it goes away. I'm using HTC Wireless, so I'm not even plugged into the link box. That is purely on for bluetooth if I want to use my mobile phone in VR. Not only do I have these black lines, but I could see a ghost image of Amazon website with an office chair. The PC was turned on, no browser was even open. I could clearly see a ghost effect of this web page. Initially thinking interference, but I remembered I've not even opened the browser yet!!! HTC please fix this issue, if people want to leave the link box on, this shouldn't cause such issues with green/red vertical lines or these horizontal black lines. I hope it goes away after a few hours and I will be sure to turn the link box off when I'm done. Such bad QC for this and the humming sound in the earphones. These things must have 100% been spotted during QC before putting them on the market.
  22. Nobody replied to you since you posted a week ago? See if any of this helps you out... Download SteamVR BETA, Vive Console BETA and latest Windows updates. Finally have a go with the latest NVIDIA drivers. Some warn against it, but works fine for me and has helped reduced the stuttering in VR after 9 months of drivers being broken for VR. Also be sure no overclocking is on, check your thermals for CPU and GPU.
