ScottHerz Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 The SRanipalInstaller doesn't seem to work right now. It dies with the attached dialog. Can someone look into this? I'm kinda sunk without it. I've tried reloading the file from the site. @Daniel_Y @Corvus
Corvus Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 @ScottHerz What version of the installer are you using? and do you have any antivirus enabled? If so please try disabling antivirus as it may corrupt the installer.
ScottHerz Posted October 10, 2019 Author Posted October 10, 2019 I'm using whatever this points to: https://hub.vive.com/en-US/download/VIVE_SRanipalInstaller_1.1.0.1.msi I don't have any kind of special anti-virus, beyond whatever a stock install of Windows 10 comes with. Have you tried it. Does it work for you right now? (I just tried again and it failed)
ScottHerz Posted October 10, 2019 Author Posted October 10, 2019 I went ahead and did the full uninstall first and then did the full reinstall (as opposed to the repair). That causes a different msi to be used and that installed. Is the update path in the installer broken?
Corvus Posted October 10, 2019 Posted October 10, 2019 @ScottHerz Thanks for reporting this we will look into it. Just to confirm is it working for you now?
Claud Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 I am also having this issue. I have downloaded the Vive_SRAniapalInstaller and every time, it cannot be installed. See attached error. I have deleted it, uninstalled it, repaired it and tried to reinstall it, but it seems it's corrupt. The issue that led me to this is "Calibrate" in the Vive VR dashboard is grayed out (also attached), and cannot be clicked. So, customer support led me to try and reinstall this file, but I have not been able to.
Corvus Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 @Claud Can you try disabling any antivirus before the SRanipal installation? Some antivirus may corrupt the installer.
Claud Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 I should only have windows default security turned on
Corvus Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 @Claud Can you check this troubleshooting guide and see if any of the suggestions work for you: https://forum.vive.com/forums/topic/6482-vive-pro-eye-calibration-initialization-error-troubleshooting/
