C.T. Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 VIVE Cosmos 1.0.13.0Released September 9th 2020 [Tool Update] Enhanced camera calibration to improve tracking stability while HMD is in use
hamez88 Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 (edited) I don't know about others but this is a big step forward in terms of tracking performance. Played a few rounds of pavlov, both online and off and found that tracking feels alot better when in rifle stance. Still some fidgety parts but still alot better. Edited September 9, 2020 by hamez88
AFoolishSamurai Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Absolutely better in rifle position, much more stable, though the rear hand will freeze if too close to my body
Phr00t2000 Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Woohoo, they haven't completely given up on us! Trying this out.
Fink Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Good morning all. Checked out the update and subjectively it appears to be very stable with the usual exceptions of being very close to the HMD and when the controllers are close together almost touching, still a slight bit of wobble here and there under those circumstances but it is very much better than it was for sure, otherwise I appreciate the improvements. Keep up the good work please keep them coming. Fink.
T Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Not urgent bug report. I have an original Cosmos and this update installed the Vive Guide, Vive Pro Guide, Vive Pro HMD Guide, Vive Cosmos Elite Guide. The only other headset I had was the original Vive but AFAIK everything was cleaned out before installing the Cosmos one year ago. Also in the ..\Updater\Temp\ folder there are downloaded probably useless packages for my Cosmos. A lot of OOBE components that include the above mentioned guides. com.htc.windows.oobe.eye_dk_install.1534319191575com.htc.windows.oobe.eye_guide.1573711862052 com.htc.windows.oobe.eye_install.1569655993720 com.htc.windows.oobe.eye_install2.1581500169459com.htc.windows.oobe.launchers.1575862868088com.htc.windows.oobe.lig_guide.1581492578288 com.htc.windows.oobe.neo_guide.1528971401425 com.htc.windows.oobe.neo_install.1528970855301 com.htc.windows.oobe.neo_install2.1563790655247 com.htc.windows.oobe.other_install2.1563849317856 com.htc.windows.oobe.pro_guide.1556181404798 com.htc.windows.oobe.pro_hmd_guide.1528972970209 com.htc.windows.oobe.pro_hmd_install.1528972633802 com.htc.windows.oobe.pro_hmd_install2.1563791056726 com.htc.windows.oobe.pro_install.1556273716158 com.htc.windows.oobe.pro_install2.1563791455693 com.htc.windows.oobe.software_install.1579247447376 Only the three bolded ones were on the last beta 1.0.12.10. As said not a big deal but it's a waste of bandwidth, disk space and useless links on the Startup menu.

Hey @T This is clearly a bug to us, could you submit one issue report so that we can take a look? Thanks
nemesistw80 Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 (edited) Wow, how in the hell you made it? Just...don't touch nothing. The better experience in shooting (boneworks) since I bought the Cosmos. Congrats! Edited September 11, 2020 by nemesistw80
Phr00t2000 Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Hard to judge how much better this really is... it does feel better, but how much of that "better" feeling is the placebo effect? There still are significant issues with occlusion when moving the controllers near each other and some headset positioning wobbling (wish the headset handled small movements a little better, which is important to reducing nausea). Controllers will still have a little wobble when moving them quickly and then having them come to a stop, or just rotating the controllers in one spot in the air. This is probably the best it has ever been, though, so I'm glad your engineers were still working on this (and hope they still are). 1
