  1. That is very strange. Did you try the 3-in-1 with and without the Linkbox? I can't imagine a reason for it to work with everything else but not Vive. Could you get a System Report for me and send it in a PM? Thank you, -John C
  2. When it mentions Steam, that's not the same thing as SteamVR. If you need to close Steam, you'll have to shut down the entire Steam client. Make sure your security software isn't blocking your applications. Thank you, -John C
  3. Make sure your internet security software is white-listing Viveport or it may not be able to connect to the server. Thank you, -John C
  4. It's quite an unusual situation. I don't think I've ever come across that many bad cables in such a short period of time. SteamVR system report isn't going to tell us anything about the cable unfortunately. Good thinking testing the cable elsewhere. I assume you were able to get a standard 3rd party HDMI cable to work on the HMD? Are you still waiting for a further replacement 3-in-1? Thank you, -John C
  5. I would think from those errors that there's something wrong with the SteamVR files. Either their corrupted or for whatever reason they're locked so you can't access them. I would completely reinstall SteamVR. Make sure your anti-virus isn't blocking the install or the executable. Thank you, -John C
  6. Unfortunately, infrared light is infrared light. The coded patterns might be different but it's still going to detect it. You'll need to set up some sort of physical obstruction to prevent the systems from seeing each other. Thank you, -John C
  7. The cable might be bad. Try bypassing the linkbox and then after that, try using the short HDMI and USB cables and see if you can get a display. If neither of those work and you're still getting a red light, you might have a DOA HMD. Thank you, -John C
  8. Adapters don't usually work. You're going to want the original cable or as close to it as possible. The other thing I'd suggest is check the ports. Maybe there's some foreign debris in there that's gumming up the connection points? Having all your cables go bad so quickly for no apparent reason seems extremely unlikely. Thank you, -John C
  9. I guess I should ask what you're doing with your cable. Do you have some kind of management solution or a ceiling mount? Is it possible you've rolled a chair over your cables? They do occasionally need to be replaced, but it's almost always because they've suffered some damage. One cable might go bad but I'd be very surprised if you'd get three bad cables in a row without some other factors. Did you try bypassing the linkbox already? Thank you, -John C
  10. A couple possibilities, but my first guess is make sure you don't have any spyware/malware eating up your system resources. If you haven't already, make sure your BIOS is fully up to date. And if possible, please run a benchmark for your system and make sure your GPU and CPU are performing within the expected range for their model. Thank you, -John C
  11. If you could, take a screenshot of the error you're gettin so I can look at it. Thank you, -John C
  12. If it's working on one laptop but not yours, we can safely say there's a problem on the laptop. Now we just have to figure out what it is. The first thing I'd check is to make sure the power settings are on maximum. Also, if you have any extra displays, look at the display settings and try removing them so it's just the laptop screen and the Vive. If you can, check the port too, make sure it can transmit visual data to another device if possible. Thank you, -John C
  13. Were you able to remove the Bluetooth driver and reinstall? Thank you, -John C
  14. A significant number of solutions were proposed earlier in the thread. Did you try any or all of them? What was the result of your testing? Thank you, -John C
  15. Before you go and get a USB card, make sure your BIOS is fully updated and check your USB settings in the BIOS. I think this is probably a USB issue. Thank you, -John C
  16. You might find a USB hub or card will clear it up. We had issues with some older components not being able to handle the USB bandwidth completely. Thank you, -John C
  17. Try bypassing the linkbox. Might be a bad cable. Make sure your GPU drivers are fully up to date. Reinstall SteamVR if none of that works. Thank you, -John C
  18. Please PM me with your RMA ticket numbers (if any) and we'll see if we can get this sorted out. Thank you, -John C
  19. How long are you waiting to charge the battery? Does the battery work when connected to other devices? (Phones, etc) Thank you, -John C
  20. Make sure your GPU drivers and BIOS are fully updated. If possible, set your PCIe slots to 3.0 in the BIOS settings. Thank you -John C
  21. I'd reinstall the SteamVR drivers at this point. You can follow these steps: Remove All SteamVR USB Devices The Vive system is composed of about 9 different USB drivers, including Bluetooth, controllers, camera, receivers and audio, among others. Due to different reasons, like software updates, change of connections, system updates or malfunction of a device, the USB drivers might get into conflict and reinstalling them is a good way to get everything back to its working state. Go to SteamVR > Settings > Developer. Click on Remove All SteamVR USB Devices. Once finished, the program will prompt a confirmation of the process. Disconnect the Link box AC Adapter and the Link box USB cable from the computer. Close SteamVR. Connect the AC Adapter back to the Link box and then connect the USB cable directly to the computer to a USB 2.0 port. Open SteamVR and check if all the devices all properly recognized, by going to SteamVR > Settings > USB > Refresh. These are the default drivers: Vive Link Box: · Hub · Hub Controller · Bluetooth Vive Headset: · Watchman Board · Camera · Audio Device · Main Board · Wireless Receiver 1 · Wireless Receiver 2 Note: This list includes the drivers of the devices directly connected to the computer by USB, as it is the HMD and Link box. Controllers and Base Stations are connected to the headset through Bluetooth and then to the computer, so these devices are not going to be visible on this list. thank you, -John C
  22. If you have ASUS AI suite, uninstall it. It could be a USB issues, so make sure you're plugged into USB 2.0 ports if you have them. Thank you, -John C
  23. I read through your post twice and I think I'm missing something: initially you describe issues with controller pairing and tracking/connection, but then you bring up the wireless card without explaining how this fits into the controller situation. Did the controllers stop working when you installed the wireless adapter? Thank you, -John C
  24. This question was answered two posts above yours. Please read the whole thread before posting as the resolution or answer has often already been provided. Thank you, -John C
