  1. I just sent you a PM in the interest of collecting information. Thanks, -John C
  2. I responded to you in the thread you created, please let's try to keep everything to it's own topic instead of posting in multiple threads, for coherency. :) Thank you! -John C
  3. Please don't post emails or other personal information publically. If you PM me, I'll send you the link. Thank you, -John C
  4. Please PM me with a description of your issue. Thanks, -John C
  5. SteamVR specifically: Are you updating it regularly or in a closed environment? Are you using SteamVR beta or public or a different private build? Thanks, -John C
  6. What version of SteamVR are you running? My preliminary research indicates that's a very old version of that interface. Are you opted into some sort of fork or older branch? Thanks, -John C
  7. There are five components to the Vive software, but unfortunately I can't offer any guidance on registry changes (nor would I suggest doing such a thing) but make sure you've removed all the Vivesoftware compotents first. Thanks, -John C
  8. Unfortunately, we can't distribute software components individually, nor do I think that would resolve the issue. As mentioned above, are you running the installation as an Administrator on the PC for full access? Have you whitelisted the software or disabled security programs? Thanks, -John C
  9. Which error are you getting? What troubleshooting have you tried so far? Thanks, -John C
  10. Did I send you that role changer yet? If not, PM me. Thanks, -John C
  11. Ah, I understand. I hope that works as well, just make sure you get something thick enough to block the IR rays. Thank you, -John C
  12. You can view the log under SteamVR, by opening the drop-down menu on the dashboard and selecting "Create System Report" If you PM me, I'll send you an email address you can attach it to. Thanks! -John C
  13. Any chance that seat is made of metal? Maybe it's reflecting as well? Thanks, -John C
  14. Weird question: have you tried blocking the ceiling lights? I'm wondering if those 'buckets' could be causing a problem. Thanks, -John C
  15. Just to reiterate, if you're trying to use two Vives in the same area, you just need a single pair of Base Stations. Any more than that and you'll have severe tracking issues. There's absolutely no reason you can't do it this way at all. If for some reason you, really, really, can't stand having two people with unobstructed LOS towards each other playing Vive using the same base stations, you'll need a partition that is thick enough to block IR and lasers, and then you can set two pairs up as long as they can't see each other at all. Thank you, -John C
  16. To clarify: When is this hangup occuring - when you download the executable file from www.vive.com or when you run the executable file setup installation? A screenshot might help. Thanks, -John C
  17. Not off the top of my head. I'm not clear exactly on what you're trying to do, but there are collaborative VR space programs out there. Doghead simulations' "rumii" comes to mind. Look into that and I think you'll find a lot of developers have had similar ideas for something like that. Thanks, -John C
  18. So long as the program supports multiple players/users, yes you can. Thanks! -John C
  19. How long do you wait for 94% to pass? Thanks, -John C
  20. When did this start happening? Was it always this way? What version of Windows do you have? Do you have the Creators update? Thanks, -John C
  21. That's exactly right. If for some reason, you do NOT want to do it the way described above and insist on 4 base stations, you'll need to partition them off from each other as there is no other possible way to do it. You'll want to find a wall or curtain that's higher than the base stations and thick enough/opaque enough to block the IR and laser beams. Thank you, -John C
  22. Thanks for the video. It's true that the base stations do vibrate slightly, but it shouldn't be enough to cause this to happen on it's own. That's why I was hoping you'd have a stable surface to place them on to test. If it's still shaking even when you've ruled out the mounts as the problem, then we'll have some new options. Thank you, -John C
