    Hello to all the community.

Sorry if this subject have benn already treated.

I just have bought the Cosmos Elite Headset. Just the headset, no controller, no lighthouse.

I want to use it in VR in flight sims like DCS World with Joystick and Throttle i have.

I have an adapter to plug the headset cable in it. From the adapter, 3 cables : one to the electricity, one to the display port on the graphic card, and one to a 3.0 USB port.

    1. Am i correct to say that i dont need any controller or base station ? I have read this on the official website of Vive. But everywhere else, it is written "you need at least one controller and one base station".
    2. When i start Vive console and Steam VR, the softwares say that everything is ok. My led is green. But inside the headset, all is grey. I just only see the stars in the sky when it starts, a few seconds.

I am a little lost with that situation... Any help will be welcome.

    Many thanks in advance !

You will need at least one base staion (1.0 or 2.0) to get any of the lighthouse compatible device running.

    Grey screen = no tracking.

Hola .. como estas -? Pudistes setear 2 equipos en la misma sala ?

    Estoy con el mismo problema

    Gracias,

Not sure what headset and which version of Base station are you using.

But based on the question, it is possible to have 2 VR headsets in both BS1.0 or BS2.0 play area.

  3. Few tips,

I know you may not like this, but I'd like you to first try with USB connection streaming to make sure the PC is ready for debugging wireless setup.
It's always hard for us to provide direct suggestion on any of the network settings.

I also have an AXE11000 handy, but I have my PC tethered to the router always to provide steady connection.

Also check with the network monitoring software or other PC monitoring application, turn them off may help.

VR is very sensitive of package lost or frame lost, that's why dynamic bitrate is designed to keep the network performance rather than keeping the image quality stable.
It's more like an option to choose performance over visual quality. So, I'll also suggest lowering the bitrate first with dynamic bitrate turned off first.

I can only suggest this much based on the limited information above for now. but I'd be happy to help you through fine tuning the settings that’s suitable for your environment.

    No guarantee though, Cheers.

I've actually tested around with this type of adapter. I got some from Syntech I've ordered a while ago, so I was curious if it would work.
While it wasn't really intensive testing, my personal experience was, that it seems to work perfectly fine as long as the USB-A Port is able to deliver enough power.

USB-A generally doesn't provide enough power for VIVE XR Elite from my experience, you may want to be careful on that. Unexpected issues may occur.

    Hi everyone,

Firstly apologies as I have zero tech/vr experience and maybe asking basic question..... I would like to know if its possible to do a file transfer from laptop to XR Viveport or any other application to have local content so I can watch my video files as a standalone without need to stream or connect to laptop?

Of course you can, please check the article here

    Hello,

i bought the XR Elite (get it next week - i hope so) and i have some questions about Viveport (I don't understand it).

Is it necessary to have an Viveport-account if i only want to play PC-VR-Games (Steam)?

You have to pay monthly (like Netflix) the money and you can play all Games in Viveport (for free)???

If I install games on the XR ELite and finish one day the contract with the Viveport..... can i play the games after finishing the contract on my XR Elite (i installed it before)?

    Thanks for your help!

If you are playing solely PCVR(from Steam) via Streaming, then there's no VIVEPORT account needed.

So, it is recommended to sign up for viveport infinity for few months, find and enjoy the content collection from infinity plan.
However, when you ends your subscription with viveport infinity, you will not be able to play them anymore unless you purchase them via Viveport or Steam platform.

    hope that answers your question.

Hi folks, I'd be happy to collect some logs if it will help you determine why RRServer.exe appears to have a memory leak?

Windows successfully diagnosed a low virtual memory condition. The following programs consumed the most virtual memory: RRServer.exe (22080) consumed 53952454656 bytes, bdservicehost.exe (2576) consumed 854364160 bytes, and OUTLOOK.EXE (22592) consumed 338173952 bytes.

Can you get me below file for me? after BSOD, the file should be generated automatically. also submit a log via hub console would be nice. thanks

    C:/Windows/memory.dmp or
    C:/Windows/minidump/*.dmp

Hello Deece. I have exactly the same "issue". Just bought The headset. Grey screen. Can't play DCS...

    Searching for hours!

Vive website says you can use the headset only. No need base station or controller. But everywhere else, it is mandatory...

Finally, can U play DCS ? Which part of the HTC peripherals have you bought to make DCS work?

    Many thanks in advance.

Unless you are using vive cosmos (6-cam version), you will need at least 1 base station for Cosmos elite (steam plate) to work.

    Hi,

I'm trying to connect a Valve Index Controller while using a Vive Focus 3 with VBS.

I've connected a Vive Tracker Dongle to the PC but when I go to SteamVR to pair the controller, I get the message 'Looking for your VR hardware' and I can't pair any devices.

This set-up works on a different PC running Windows 10 but this issue is occuring on a new desktop running a fresh install of Windows 11.

In attachment is an image showing that VBS is connected to SteamVR, the Watchman/Vive Tracker dongle is connected via USB and finally the error message.

You need to do the ActivateMultipleDrivers trick before you can use 2 different tracking system.

  11. @DDMcDWe will handle this issue in the next release. Meanwhile, can you help me to copy the whole path from your PC so we can understand more on your PC?

My issue is that the settings window will not open, so I cannot report it through the formal channel within the application. I attached a log snippet in another post I made regarding the subject.

I also cannot join the beta program to see if that fixes it as that too requires you go through the settings screen.

Additionally, having posted about this on Reddit I can confirm I am not the only person having the issue and it occurs on both Windows 10 and 11.

Can you zip everything under this folder for me? I can have related R&D to take a look. Thanks

There are two problems using the headset in glasses mode.

    1. Pinches my nose and partially closes my nasal passages.  I have not tried the top strap because I never saw it in the box until you mentioned it.  This problem is somewhat minor and after a few minutes I got used to it.

    2. Pinching the side of the skull.  This is a major issue the head strap cannot fix.  The first day I used the headset for several hours and  it pinched my skull so bad it is still sensitive and sore two days later.  Since the first day I am unable to use glasses mode any more due to the sensitivity of that area.  Since then I have been using the battery cradle and it works great as far as comfort but it really defeats the purpose of the main reason of me purchasing the unit which was for the portability of the glasses mode.  I would strongly recommend getting this addressed before someone injures themselves.

Let me request something from you in DM for #2.

Figmin XR was listed as one of the free preorder bonus apps. I see that it is now listed in the store, but I can't seem to claim it.

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks in advance!
