Since "VIVE Focus 3" itself has not whitelisted the Tracker Ultimate dongle, does that mean that each individual needs to register it?
Or does it mean that "VIVE Focus 3" doesn't actually support Tracker Ultimate dongle?

It does support Focus 3, but we need to upgrade the tracking system to support the Ultimate tracker. Therefore, we have included a flag here to prevent people from upgrading to the new version without proper consent.
Since Focus 3 is primarily sold to enterprises, businesses, and arcades, we want to ensure that everyone has enough time to prepare for this update.

    Hello!

We have started to test with the VIVE ultimate tracker - utilizing VBS and Steam VR.  It is performing well, but one issue that throws a wrench in utilizing titles that are already optimized to the old vive 2.0/3.0 trackers - it's orientation.  It seems that our software is receiving the position of the ultimate tracker as if it was a vive tracker 3.0 tipped up backwards 90 degrees.  Ideally we still would like the old trackers to function on the same piece of software as the ultimate trackers - and utilize the same mounting positions.

(mounting position is on top of the wrist - steam VR tracker setting is 'Held In Hand')

This is how we have to position the ultimate tracker to match the pose of the vive tracker 3.0.  current.thumb.jpg.23947d08ae776135b7c105c110325c70.jpg

Ideally, to simplify compatibility, we would want the ultimate tracker to have the same orientation as the vive tracker 3.0:

On that note, we run the same issue with the wrist trackers - the pose is like you are holding the wrist tracker like a controller, instead of wearing it on top of the wrist.

If there is any tool to change the pose of the trackers on VBS or Steam VR, i'm not aware of it...  There used to be an inputemulator software that would do just that on steam VR (add-on) - but that has been long incompatible for a couple years.

Any help in this would be appreciated, Cheers!

Got it, we will figure something out based on your feedback.

I am a new user to Vive, and so far I'm beating my head against the wall trying to figure out what is going on here.  As indicated in the post title, I have the Vive Pro 2 running on an ASUS Nvidia Gefore RTX 4090 OC GPU and Intel i9 14900K proc with 48GB DDR5-8000 RAM, all running Windows 11.  My system should be fully and completely capable of powering this headset even at its highest settings, but for some reason it can't.  No matter what I do, the Ultra and Extreme settings remain grayed out in my Vive Console software with a message saying: "Full resolution not supported by your current hardware."  That's a load of crap, because my hardware can certainly support it.  But something is making Vive Console think my GPU can't support this.

I've tried to delete and reinstall all the Steam-related and HTC-related software and drivers multiple times using CCleaner, power cycled all the VR hardware equipment and the PC multiple times throughout that process, set the native resolution in SteamVR to 100% instead of the default 150%, enabled developer betas on both Steam and Vive Console applications, unplugged my second monitor from my GPU so only my primary monitor is connected to HDMI and the VIVE is connected to the DisplayPort.  I've done a reset of all the system USB drivers.  The only thing I haven't done is blown away and reinstalled the GPU drivers themselves.

Does anyone have any guidance or experience for this at all?

@Em0Abstracts Could you submit a log via Console to us to see why it cannot be enabled on your setup?

    Hello,

so far we use the Microsoft Display Apapter for casting the Vive Focus 3 to a bigger screen. Unfortunately the devices seem out of stock in most places.

Has anybody any recommendations for other devices to cast on?

    Thanks & best regards

I personally use screenbeam mini 2

    Hello,

is it possible to stream PC-VR-Apps from Desktop to XR Elite without using Steam or VivePort?

We develop PC-VR-Apps for years for our customers. Target plattforms are DesktopPC with Vive Pro/Vive Pro 2 with wireless. For Deployment we use other solutions than Steam or VivePort. At the desktops only SteamVR is installed.

Is it possible to stream desktopVR-Apps to XR-Elite?
I tried it, but can't select any apps to stream.

    Regards

if it's not in steam or viveport library, then we probably don't/aren't able to know where find it. you will have to manually launch it on desktop.

  16. Introducing VIVE Desk Beta: A Virtual Desktop to Boost Your Workspace Productivity

Have you ever considered getting multiple monitors but couldn't commit due to problems such as:

    • Lacking enough desk space.
    • Being unable to decide between dual, triple, or ultra-wide screen monitors.
    • Wishing to have a multi-screen setup on the go.
    • Budget constraints around buying multiple high-quality monitors .

Using a virtual desktop instead of physical monitors can solve these issues because:

    • You won't need any additional space on your desk.
    • You can easily switch between virtual screen configurations, whether it's dual, triple, or ultra-wide.
    • All you need is your laptop and a VIVE XR Elite, both of which are highly portable devices.

With the latest advancements in spatial computing, mixed reality, and display technologies, we've reached a point where working in a virtual space could revolutionize your workspace experience.

And this is where we introduce: VIVE Desk Beta .

VIVE Desk Beta is our new virtual desktop solution that will change the way you interact with screens. There are many features such as virtual screens that can you can move and size individually, pointer/cursor that can be moved across the entire virtual environment using your mouse or vr controller, and support for mixed reallity that will let you merge your virtual desktop with a physical workspace.

Sounds like a scene in sci-fi movie? Well, fiction goes to reality today for everyone with a VIVE XR Elite.
