  1. Maybe you could try to take some screenshots within a game at a certain angle inside of the Quest 2 and try to get the same angle and take a screenshot within the Focus 3 and then we could compare where the issues are?
  2. I just read that the latest VBS beta has WAY BETTER visual quality than the previous versions. Can anyone please post some screenshots from within the headset to show the difference? https://www.vive.com/us/support/focus3/category_howto/taking-screenshots-and-videos.html#:~:text=Press the VIVE button on,after a 3-second delay. screenshot instructions
  3. The title is the topic, but yeah, I would like to know for the next half a year or year, what are HTC's priorities regarding updates for the Focus 3? Specifically, is improving visual quality/increasing mbps of VBS a priority? The Focus 3 has been out since last Summer and the max mbps hasn't been increased since then, especially now that 6e support is out, will that be a priority?
  4. Long story short, I'm thinking about what I could do with my Vive Focus 3 now that for the first time ever I have a standalone headset and it occurs to me, "woah, if I could control a real world drone, it could look like I'm flying!" So... any thoughts on how I could do that?
  5. In Windows 10 > Start Menu > Settings > Network & Internet > Ethernet > Change Adapter Options > Right Click Ethernet > Properties > Configure > Advanced > Power Saving Mode > Set to Disabled So, here I am, connecting my brand new 6e router directly to my ethernet port with a cat 7 cable, making sure that the router is in line of sight to where the Focus 3 will be when in use. And despite thinking that I've done everything right, when I try to use SteamVR I get intermittent stutters and cuts until after about 10-15 minutes I get such long disconnects that eventually I need to reset the system. After troubleshooting the router extensively, I remembered a weird issue I had with my previous PC where whenever I logged onto google maps my internet would disconnect for 30 seconds and then reconnect and after a lot of investigation and troubleshooting I disabled the power saving mode and my Lan was perfect afterwards. So, I disabled power saving mode on my RealtekPCIe 2.5GbE Family Controller and now suddenly the Vive Focus 3 + VBS is extremely stable. Heh, I feel after all the problems power saving mode has given me, it ought to be disabled by default, but since it's not, if you're having stability issues with VBS or if you just got a Focus 3 and haven't yet started using it, definitely disable this. I hope this posts saves someone else some frustration, little things like this can be real needles in haystacks despite making such a profound difference.
  6. "VBS Client - 1.0.8.11 (Be sure to update through Vive Business App Store, some of the changes require the latest client version)" How do I verify I have the latest client? If I go into the business app store and there's no option to download or update, the button in the corner just opens the app, that means it's updated?
  7. So, seems like I get my Focus 3 to connect now to 6E using my Asus GT-AXE11000, I just keep turning features on and off until I found a combination of settings that worked. (I don't really know very much about networking so that was the best I could do on my own). Anyway, right now my settings under the wireless professional tab are Roaming Assistant - Disabled Wireless Mode - Auto 802.11ax/Wifi 6 mode - Enabled Wifi Agile Multiband - Disabled Target Wake Time - Disabled And the rest of the settings are default.
  8. Oh, you guys are also having issues getting the 6ghz band working on the ASUS GT-AXE11000? With my router, for some reason, I'm having trouble having my Focus 3 even being able to see the 6E network. I got it to connect once and then to verify that it was stable I disconnected it and when it reconnected, it was gone again. Could I perhaps get a list of ideal settings for the 6ghz spectrum and try that? I only bought a 6E router for the Focus 3 so I don't care about how it affects anything else, I don't think I own any other 6E devices.
  9. "100mbps is entering the realm of diminishign returns" It is true that there's diminishing returns in one case, but 100mbps is an arbitrary number. I'm assuming Guy Godin is saying 100 mbps relative to the Oculus/Meta Quest 2 but in order to have the same compression ratio at the Focus 3's native resolution, you would need at least 170 mbps.
  10. 200 Mbps would be an adequate improvement for now because native resolution is 42% more data than the current 2048 by 2048 maximum, so double the transmission flow and you have more than enough to deliver maximum resolution WITH less compression artifacts. Obviously, I want the maximum possible Mbps but as a middle ground, 200Mbps and Native resolution would be enough.
  11. The same could be said about 6E, I can understand HTC not letting users select higher than 100 mbps if they're connecting to a 2.4ghz router that is in another room in an environment with a crowded radio spectrum, but it's like, the Focus 3 has 6E support, so they should let us use it to its potential!
  12. I've seen this sentiment in several places, people like their Focus 3's enough to keep them, but they want the software to not hold it back.
  13. So, now that 6E support is out, devs, even if it's just in the beta version, would you please unlock the maximum possible bitrate and full native resolution? I really like the Vive Focus 3 and I just bought a 6E router in order to get the best possible wireless streaming, but now I need the software to allow me to use my hardware to its potential! Devs, would you please release a beta version for users like me? Especially, please, allow us to use native resolution, upsampling looks very blurry.
