  1. Ya, no more pre-ordering things for me either, lol!
  2. I'm more of an Intel/nvidia guy muself (i9 9900k, gtx1080ti) so I cannot say for sure. Googling your query may give you some info like; Otherwise it might be best to ask Vive Support imho. Good luck.
  3. Seems it is no longer included in Infinity. Sometimes featured ones like this are only in Infinity for a short while. That's why I always download them when I first see them. From the VivePort forum; https://forum.viveport.com/topic/6829-superhot-vr-not-available-on-infinity/
  4. Unfortunately WMC 2020 has now been canceled due to coronavirus. Maybe Vive can just let us know what they intended to present at this. https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-51474116
  5. So, the calibration and factory reset rescue firmware files fixed this ok? Thanks.
  6. May not be quite as bad for HTC Vive since they are located and manufacture in Taiwan, not mainland China. Still could be a factor if they get any components from mainland China though.
  7. Sorry but I would not consider the Varta’s to be as good as eneloop 1900’s. All the tests I’ve seen show that under load the eneloop maintains high voltages. Also the eneloop has a lower storage discharge rate. The varta’s are probably still ok to use though. Certainly better than stock aa’s shipped with the Cosmos, lol!
  8. If you are interested here is a blurb that compares 1.2v eneloops with 1.5v Alkalines. There you can see how much better they hold voltage under load. https://www.panasonic.com/global/consumer/battery/eneloop/technologies.html
  9. The Panasonic Eneloop 1900mahr AA rechargeables hold voltage under load much better than most no-name brands that claim to have higher capacities imho. I have normally gotten 6-8 hrs runtime out of them. Don't be fooled by cheap as chips ones off places like Ebay. Buy the real deal and you will get good results.
  10. Try re-seating your wireless pcie card and maybe uninstall your wireless software and reinstall it again. Also make sure the card’s heatsink is getting enough airflow over it. Sorry, all I can think of. You may also want to contact Vive support and see if they can help.
  11. Have you tried using 2x v2 controllers? Although both the black v1 and the blue v2 controllers are both compatible with 1.0 base stations, maybe they cannot be used together? Maybe you should contact Vive support and ask them.
  12. Ya, and it does not look like there ever will be one, lol! My workaround is to startup SteamVR and let it find everything (headset, controllers, base stations) and then press the Link Box power button to power it off for 1-2 seconds, then power it on again and let SteamVR find everything again (only takes a few seconds). Then all's well until the next SteamVR session. This only adds ~10 seconds to do but it still should not be necessary. I think that this may be a SteamVR issue because when I power on my Vive Pro headset before starting SteamVR and run a mp3 music file the sound is great. The distortion only happens when I startup SteamVR. Funny but this does not happen when I run my Vive Pro with the Wireless adapter. Maybe this is because it uses different audio drivers. So, maybe there is an issue with the Vive Pro wired drivers. Who knows?
  13. Sorry mate but no Vive controllers are compatible with your windows mixed reality (WMR) headset. Any WMR controllers will work with your current headset. However, they are very difficult to source. Dell was selling these for $99 but I don’t think these are available any more. Probably your cheapest option is to try to source a new or used WMR headset with controllers from places like Amazon or eBay. If you want to stick with the convenience of inside-out tracking (no external base stations or sensors) then you may want to consider buying either a Vive Cosmos or an Oculus Rift S. Up to you to do your own research on these imho.
  14. I have found the my VivePort subscription to be very enjoyable and easy to use. I really love how most games/apps play well with my Cosmos, Vive Pro, and Oculus Rift headsets. Like @A-Jey said, lots of very good games/apps are available.
  15. No, you cannot use 1.0 and 2.0 base stations together. They are not compatible. If I were you I would just stick with your current 2x1.0 setup and maybe look at repositioning them a little for better seated coverage. Maybe even add a sync cable.
  16. Try a desk fan or two. I have one in front and another off to the side and this helps keep the temps down and lens fog-free. Obviously, since the Vive Wireless is a bit of a CPU resource hog it's a good idea to have good CPU cooling (my i9 9900k is water cooled) and good internal fans that blow over the wireless card's heatsink. Best thing for good performance is to stay cool, lol!
  17. Ok, I gotta say that this is not very helpful, lol!
  18. Maybe try re-seating your wireless PC pcie card and/or move it to a different slot. Also, make sure your wireless cable to headset connection is ok. Check the Vive Wireless on-line manual for a few more troubleshooting tips. Otherwise, contact Vive support and ask them to help. Good luck mate.
  19. I hate to say this but the pass through seen through the Vive Pro and Cosmos looks a lot more like 320 x 240, lol! Maybe a function of downscaling and/or maybe just poor quality cameras?
  20. The Oculus Rift S (which I have owned) tracking and controller grip lag issues took almost exactly 4 months to fix. Vive has now had the same time to work on Cosmos tracking. So, I don't think it's unreasonable for most users to be a little disappointed right now. Like you and op I agree that name-calling bashing is not very useful though (and pretty immature). Some think that anything negative is bashing and unconstructive. This is not the case imho.
  21. Googling for this info; the Vive Pro front cameras are fisheye 640x480 resolution.
  22. deleted double post. Not sure why this sometimes happens?
  23. Ya, I do realise that mate. Unfortunately I think the best firmware update so far was beta 1.0.9.2 and you are unable to roll back to that one since it's a beta. As I think I mentioned earlier I have now packed up my Cosmos (and wireless for now) and I'll continue to use my Vive Pro w/2.0 base stations/controllers plus my Oculus Rift cv1 w/2x sensors. This dual VR headset setup is working very well and thanks to the Vive Link box on/off switch and the Oculus Tray Tool (OTT) it is very easy to switch between each headset. I'll look at taking my Cosmos out of its box once either inside-out tracking is nailed down and/or maybe when a Cosmos SteamVR faceplate is made available (and properly tested out of course).
